Testing SNe Ia distance measurement methods with SN 2011fe [PDF]
The nearby, bright, almost completely unreddened Type Ia supernova 2011fe in M101 provides a unique opportunity to test both the precision and the accuracy of the extragalactic distances derived from SNe Ia light curve fitters.

An Accuracy Problem of the Fwd Time History with Regard to the Application of the Sasw Method
A Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) represents one group of the devices used for diagnostics of pavement bearing capacity. Usually, the FWD dynamic load is substituted by a static load in the evaluation process to determine the equivalent modulus of a ...

Change in skeletal muscle stiffness after running competition is dependent on both running distance and recovery time: a pilot study [PDF]
Long-distance running competitions impose a large amount of mechanical loading and strain leading to muscle edema and delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS). Damage to various muscle fibers, metabolic impairments and fatigue have been linked to explain how

The RR Lyrae Period - K Luminosity relation for Globular Clusters: an observational approach [PDF]
The Period - metallicity - K band luminosity (PLK) relation for RR Lyrae stars in 15 Galactic globular clusters and in the LMC globular cluster Reticulum has been derived. It is based on accurate near infrared (K) photometry combined with 2MASS and other

Bistable Mechanisms 3D Printing for Mechanically Programmable Vibration Control
This work introduces a 3D‐printed bistable mechanism integrated into tuned mass dampers (TMDs) for mechanically adaptive passive vibration suppression. Through optimized geometry, the bistable design provides adaptable vibration reduction across a broad range of scenarios, achieving effective vibration mitigation without complex controls or external ...

Anomalous RR Lyrae stars(?). III. CM Leonis [PDF]
Time series of B,V,I CCD photometry and radial velocity measurements from high resolution spectroscopy (R=30,000) covering the full pulsation cycle are presented for the field RR Lyrae star CM Leonis. The photometric data span a 6 year interval from 1994

In this manuscript, the processability of X2CrNiMo17‐12‐2 powder coated with silicon carbide, silicon, and silicon nitride nanoparticles is investigated. The amount of nanoparticles varies from 0.25 to 1 vol%. By coating the powder feedstock material with nanoparticles, an enlargement of the process window and an increase in the build rate are achieved.
