Supernovae Light Curves: An Argument for a New Distance Modulus [PDF]
Supernovae Ia (SNe Ia) light curves have been used to prove the universe is expanding. As standard candles, SNe Ia appear to indicate the rate of expansion has increased in the past and is now decreasing. This independent evaluation of SNe Ia light curves demonstrates a Malmquist Type II bias exists in the body of supernova data.

A New Analytical Solution for the Distance Modulus in Flat Cosmology
A new analytical solution for the luminosity distance in flat $ $CDM cosmology is derived in terms of elliptical integrals of first kind with real argument. The consequent derivation of the distance modulus allows evaluating the Hubble constant, $H_0=69.77\pm 0.33$, $\om= 0.295\pm0.008$ and the cosmological constant, $ = (1.194 \pm 0.017)10^{-52 ...

Skeletal muscle elastic modulus in marathon distance runners [PDF]
Skeletal muscle shear elastic modulus is a non-invasive surrogate for early detection of muscle damage and soreness consequent to unaccustomed eccentric muscle work. We investigated the influence of marathon distance running on skeletal muscle shear elastic modulus. Shear modulus of the rectus femoris was measured via ultrasound shear wave elastography

Machine-learning computation of distance modulus for local galaxies [PDF]
Context.Quickly growing computing facilities and an increasing number of extragalactic observations encourage the application of data-driven approaches to uncover hidden relations from astronomical data. In this work we raise the problem of distance reconstruction for a large number of galaxies from available extensive observations.Aims.We propose a ...

Constraining The Hubble Parameter Using Distance Modulus - Redshift Relation [PDF]
Using the relation between distance modulus $(m - M)$ and redshift $z$, deduced from Friedman- Robertson-Walker (FRW) metric and assuming different values of deceleration parameter $q_0$. We constrained the Hubble parameter $h$. The estimates of the Hubble parameters we obtained using the median values of the data obtained from NASA Extragalactic ...

On the Distance Modulus of the Large Magellanic Cloud [PDF]
The corrected modulus = 18.31 ± 0.15 (external m.e.) previously derived from five independent primary distance indicators is confirmed by nine different secondary and tertiary indicators which give = 18.20 ± 0.10 (internal mean error) on the same system of zero points and extinction corrections.

A modulus for curves from distance
In this paper, a modulus of a curve family is defined by using so-called pseudo-distance functions as follows. Let \(X\) be a connected and open subset of a Riemannian manifold \((M,g)\). Suppose that \(\rho: \Omega(X)\to[0,\infty)\), where \(\Omega(X)\) is the set of all continuous curves in \(X\) parameterized by the unit interval, is invariant under

The distance modulus of the Large Magellanic Cloud: Constraints from RR Lyrae pulsation properties [PDF]
It has recently been suggested that the discrepancy between the "long" and "short" distance moduli of the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC), as inferred from the properties of the Cepheid and RR Lyrae variables, respectively, might be due to the action of "third parameters" between the Galaxy and the LMC, which would make the RR Lyraes in the old LMC ...
