Travelling Distance of a Skimboard

open access: yesUndergraduate Journal of Mathematical Modeling: One + Two, 2013
The purpose of this project was to determine the optimum conditions to maximize the distance travelled on a skimboard. Given the differential equation that governs the changes in velocity of the skimboard, we were able to integrate and find an expression for the distance travelled by the skimboard.

Freeform Fabrication of Layered Halide Perovskite Nanowire Heterojunctions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
‘All‐at‐once’ freeform fabrication of layered perovskite nanowire heterojunctions is realized by 3D printing employing meniscus‐guided crystallization. The integration of nanoscale additive manufacturing with layered halide perovskites will provide a versatile platform to freely design and realize highly stable perovskite‐based optoelectronic ...

Global production networks and the People's Republic of China's processing trade [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This paper unveils a systematic pattern in the People's Republic of China's (PRC) processing trade. In a cross-section of the PRC's provinces, the average distance traveled by processing imports (import distance) is negatively correlated with the average

Field‐Effect Transistors from Artificial Charged Domain Walls in Stacked Van der Waals Ferroelectric α‐In2Se3

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study utilizes the van der Waals stacking of ferroelectric α$\alpha$‐In2Se3 to fabricate in‐plane artificial charged domain walls. These charged domain walls are electrically accessible, gate‐tunable, and show 2–9 orders of magnitude higher conductance than charged domain walls from thin film ferroelectrics, allowing their integration in field ...

Travelling the Distance

open access: yes, 2007
This limited edition book documents the making of the artwork Travelling the Distance, and records the contribution of the women who contributed to it. With accompanying essays by artist and educator Tanya Eccleston and former Head of Equality, Human Rights & Third Sector at Scottish Government, Yvonne Strachan, it was designed and produced by Corrie ...

Will the exploratory behavior of lobsters decrease as they become familiar with their environment? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Previous studies have shown that most lobsters have a home range in which they reside on a daily basis. The tendency for lobsters to reside in a particular area suggests that they have the ability to learn the characteristics of an area using exploratory

Enabling Real‐Time, Non‐Ionizing 3D Imaging of Implantable Magnetic Cements Using Magnetic Particle Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study reports the first implantable resin cement capable of orientation‐sensitive Magnetic Particle Imaging (MPI). By coating the cement with an ultrathin iron film, the authors achieve a strong, angle‐dependent MPI signal that enables non‐ionizing, real‐time tracking of both implant position and orientation, opening new possibilities for safe ...
