Suppressing Metal–Molecule Charge Transfer With a Phosphorus Interlayer
Phosphorus forms stable reconstructions with remarkable properties on various metal substrates. Here, using a spectroscopic approach, its role as an effective buffer layer on Cu(110) is demonstrated, preventing charge transfer to adsorbed Zn‐tetraphenylporphyrins (ZnTPP).

Lipid drug carriers to which ultra‐small gold nanoparticles were added enabled more efficient radiotherapy of cultured pancreatic cancer tumors. These nanoparticles boosted radiation‐induced damage to tumors by generating more reactive molecules, though higher gold levels are needed for strong benefits.

On the Link between Urban Form and Automobile Use - Evidence from German Survey Data [PDF]
This study investigates the influence of urban form on automobile travel using travel-diary data from Germany. Two dimensions of car use are considered: the discrete decision to own a car and the continuous decision of distance traveled.
