Anomalous Centrifugal Distortion Coefficients in Linear Polyatomic Molecules

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1957
The theory of the effect of resonance, in particular Fermi resonance and l-type resonance, on the effective centrifugal distortion coefficient of a molecule for a given vibration state is developed. The theory is applied to certain cases where l-type resonance occurs and to certain cases where both l-type resonance and Fermi resonance occur.

Optical distortion coefficients of high-power laser windows

Optical Engineering, 1990
This paper concerns the problem of describing and evaluating thermal lensing phenomena that occur as a result of the absorption of laser light in solid windows. The aberration function expansion method is applied for deriving the two optical distortion coefficients x+ and xthat characterize the degradation in light intensity at the Gaussian focus of an

Lower Semicontinuity of Distortion Coefficients for Homeomorphisms of Bounded (1, σ)-Weighted (q, p)-Distortion on Carnot Groups

Russian Mathematics
In this paper we study the locally uniform convergence of homeomorphisms with bounded (1,σ)-weighted (q,p)-distortion to a limit homeomorphism. Under some additional conditions we prove that the limit homeomorphism is a mapping with bounded (1,σ)-weighted (q,p)-distortion.

Distortions of the extinction coefficient profile caused by systematic errors in lidar data

Applied Optics, 2004
The influence of lidar data systematic errors on the retrieved particulate extinction coefficient profile in clear atmospheres is investigated. Particularly, two sources of the extinction coefficient profile distortions are analyzed: (1) a zero-line offset remaining after subtraction of an inaccurately determined signal background component and (2) a ...

Efficient Control for the Distortion Incurred by Dropping DCT Coefficients in Compressed Domain

2005
The primary goal of this paper is to facilitate the rate-distortion control in compressed domain, without introducing a full decoding and re-encoding system in pixel domain. For this aim, the error propagation behavior over several frame-sequences due to DCT coefficients-drop is investigated on the basis of statistical and empirical properties.

Determination of Centrifugal Distortion Coefficients of Asymmetric-Top Molecules

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1967
The rotational Hamiltonian of an asymmetric-top molecule in a given vibrational state, obtained by the usual vibrational perturbation treatment, contains more parameters than can be determined from the observed energy levels. This Hamiltonian is therefore transformed by means of a unitary transformation to a reduced Hamiltonian which is suitable for ...
