Phase Distortion and Phase Distortion Correction
Bell System Technical Journal, 1928The importance of the rocle played by the steady state phase characteristics of long cable circuits has recently been emphasized in telephone and telegraph transmission. In this paper an analytical exposition of the theory of phase distortion is followed by a consideration of various methods of phase distortion correction with particular reference to ...

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, Part I: Communication and Electronics, 1956
IN FACSIMILE and data transmission systems the signals are largely transient in nature and are usually in the form of a modulated wave for transmission purposes. The modulating signals may be in the form of isolated pulses, periodic waves, or various other wave shapes depending upon the nature of the communication device or system.

Robust distortion correction of endoscope
SPIE Proceedings, 2008Endoscopic images suffer from a fundamental spatial distortion due to the wide angle design of the endoscope lens. This barrel-type distortion is an obstacle for subsequent Computer Aided Diagnosis (CAD) algorithms and should be corrected. Various methods and research models for the barrel-type distortion correction have been proposed and studied ...

Automatic estimation of distortion coefficient for correcting radial distortion
2018 International Conference on Electronics, Information, and Communication (ICEIC), 2018This study proposes the facial landmark points based distortion coefficients estimation to overcome the radial distortion. Existing methods estimate the distortion rate using the predefined information, such as design model of lens, pattern information, and prior learning.

Technique for Correcting Helium Speech Distortion
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1967Some qualitative data on the nature of the speech distortion caused by respiration of a helium-oxygen atmosphere are presented. Previous corrective-processing techniques are discussed, and an advanced technique that overcomes their disadvantages described.

Method for correcting acoustic distortion
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1986A method and apparatus useful in both the recording and playback of audio recordings for correcting the effects of acoustic distortion introduced by the room in which the recording is made and/or played. An acoustic test impulse is generated and the response observed to establish the acoustic properties of the room.

Correction of tape recorder distortion
ICASSP '77. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005The estimation of the glottal volume-velocity by linear predictive inverse filtering is shown to be severely affected by tape recorder distortion; so much so that the closed phase (if present) in the glottal volume-velocity may not be detectable.

Distortion correction for digital cameras
Proceedings SIBGRAPI'98. International Symposium on Computer Graphics, Image Processing, and Vision (Cat. No.98EX237), 2002This paper describes a method to correct lens distortion for digital cameras. A simple but effective distortion model using local spatial transformation will be used. In addition, the effect of effective focal length on the distortion model will be considered, and we will discuss how to introduce this factor to enhance the model.

Radial distortion correction in a vision system
Applied Optics, 2016Accurate correction of lens distortion is the core technology in visual based measurements. Radial distortion is the most significant lens distortion in a vision system. In this paper, a radial distortion correction method named the iteration geometrical similar method is proposed.

Lens Distortion Correction Using ELM
2015Lens distortion is one of the major issues in camera calibration since it causes the perspective projection of the camera model to no longer hold. Thus to eliminate lens distortion becomes an essential part of camera calibration. This paper proposes a novel method of correcting lens distortion by implementing extreme learning machine, a new learning ...
