High-precision lateral distortion measurement and correction in coherence scanning interferometry using an arbitrary surface [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Lateral optical distortion is present in most optical imaging systems. In coherence scanning interferometry, distortion may cause field-dependent systematic errors in the measurement of surface topography. These errors become critical when high-precision

Correction Factors for Reactions involving Quark-Antiquark Annihilation or Production

open access: yes, 1994
In reactions with $q \bar q$ production or $q\bar q$ annihilation, initial- and final-state interactions give rise to large corrections to the lowest-order cross sections.

Diversities and the Geometry of Hypergraphs

open access: yes, 2014
The embedding of finite metrics in $\ell_1$ has become a fundamental tool for both combinatorial optimization and large-scale data analysis. One important application is to network flow problems in which there is close relation between max-flow min-cut ...

Targeting TNBC: core–shell polycationic polyurea dendrimers with inherent anticancer activity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Core–shell polycationic PURE dendrimers were tested in TNBC‐derived tumor models. Both formulations selectively targeted TNBC and effectively reduced tumor volume. PUREG4‐OEI48 suppressed tumor growth without detectable toxicity, whereas PUREG4‐OCEI24, despite showing efficacy, induced hepatic toxicity.

A Distortion Image Correction Method for Wide-Angle Cameras Based on Track Visual Detection

open access: yesPhotonics
Regarding the distortion correction problem of large field of view wide-angle cameras commonly used in railway visual inspection systems, this paper proposes a novel online calibration method for non-specially made cooperative calibration objects.

Prostate diffusion imaging with distortion correction

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance Imaging, 2015
Diffusion imaging in the prostate is susceptible to distortion from B0 inhomogeneity. Distortion correction in prostate imaging is not routinely performed, resulting in diffusion images without accurate localization of tumors. We performed and evaluated distortion correction for diffusion imaging in the prostate.28 patients underwent pre-operative MRI (

The effect of inhomogenities on single molecule imaging by hard XFEL pulses

open access: yes, 2009
We study the local distortion of the atomic structure in small biological samples illuminated by x-ray free electron laser (XFEL) pulses. We concentrate on the effect of inhomogenities: heavy atoms in a light matrix and non-homogeneous spatial ...

Hands‐on protocol for preparing water‐soluble fractions from agri‐food samples for NMR‐based metabolomics analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This research protocol outlines a workflow for nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)‐based metabolomics in the agri‐food sector. Using two case studies—strawberry leaves (solid matrix) and wine (liquid matrix)—it details the procedures for sample preparation, data acquisition, and processing.

CRITICAL ASSESSMENT OF CORRECTION METHODS FOR FISHEYE LENS DISTORTION [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2016
A fisheye lens is widely used to create a wide panoramic or hemispherical image. It is an ultra wide-angle lens that produces strong visual distortion.
