Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Piecewise second kind Chebyshev functions for a class of piecewise fractional nonlinear reaction–diffusion equations with variable coefficients

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal
In this paper, a new type of piecewise fractional derivative (PFD) is introduced. The ordinary and distributed-order fractional derivatives in the Caputo sense are used to define this type of PFD.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

MAS-Based Decentralized Coordinated Control Strategy in a Micro-Grid with Multiple Microsources

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
In this paper, a decentralized coordinated control method based on multi-agent system is proposed to improve the voltage stability of micro-grid. In lower-level agents, the decentralized control is designed as double-loop controllers for the inverter of ...

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Pointwise-in-time error estimates for an optimal control problem with subdiffusion constraint

open access: yes, 2017
In this work, we present numerical analysis for a distributed optimal control problem, with box constraint on the control, governed by a subdiffusion equation which involves a fractional derivative of order $\alpha\in(0,1)$ in time.

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Optimal feedback stabilization of fractional output in semilinear distributed systems

open access: yesPartial Differential Equations in Applied Mathematics
This study explores the stabilization of state–space fractional derivatives in semilinear distributed systems, using the Riemann–Liouville derivative of order α, where α lies within the interval 0,1.

Enzymatic degradation of biopolymers in amorphous and molten states: mechanisms and applications

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This review explains how polymer morphology and thermal state shape enzymatic degradation pathways, comparing amorphous and molten biopolymer structures. By integrating structure–reactivity principles with insights from thermodynamics and enzyme engineering, it highlights mechanisms that enable efficient polymer breakdown.
