Monolithic narrow-linewidth InGaAsP semiconductor laser for coherent optical communications [PDF]

open access: yes
A design for a monolithic narrow-linewidth InGaAsP diode laser has been developed using a multiple-quantum-well (MQW) extended-passive-cavity distributed-Bragg-reflector (DBR) laser design.

Wavelength stabilisation of 1.5 μm GaInAsP/InP bundle-integrated-guide distributed-Bragg-reflector (BIG-DBR) lasers integrated with wavelength tuning region

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1986
The temperature dependence of the lasing wavelength was stabilised in wavelength-tunable 1.5 μm GaInAsP/InP bundle-integrated-guide distributed-Bragg-reflector (BIG-DBR)-type dynamic-single-mode (DSM) lasers. The lasing wavelength was controlled to maintain a fixed wavelength over a temperature range of 40 deg C.

Etched distributed Bragg reflectors as three-dimensional photonic crystals: photonic bands and density of states

open access: yes, 2002
The photonic band dispersion and density of states (DOS) are calculated for the three-dimensional (3D) hexagonal structure corresponding to a distributed Bragg reflector patterned with a 2D triangular lattice of circular holes. Results for the Si/SiO$_2$

Silicon dual pillar structure with a distributed Bragg reflector for dielectric laser accelerators: Design and fabrication

open access: yes, 2018
Dielectric laser accelerators (DLAs) have proven to be good candidates for miniaturized particle accelerators. They rely on micro-fabricated dielectrics which are able to modulate the kinetic energy of the incoming electron beam under a proper laser ...

Notes on Evanescent Wave Bragg-Reflection Waveguides

open access: yes, 2013
We investigate an extended version of the Bragg reflection waveguide (BRW) with air gaps as one of the layers. This design has the potential of drastically simplifying the epitaxial structure for integrated nonlinear optical elements at the expense of ...
