Wafer Scale III-Nitride Deep-Ultraviolet Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Lasers Featuring Nanometer-Class Control of Cavity Length. [PDF]
A DUV‐VCSEL strategy featuring the nanometer‐class control of the cavity length is proposed in the DUV optoelectronic framework based on GaN templates. After the sapphire removal, a self‐terminated etching technology is developed, whereby the cavity length can be accurately determined by epitaxy instead of the fabrication process. As such, a record low

Design, fabrication and characterization of a distributed Bragg reflector for reducing the étendue of a wavelength converting system [PDF]
In this work, the design, fabrication and characterization are reported for a distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) filter with a specific wavelength and angular dependency, which aims to improve the light collection from a wavelength-converter-based light ...

High Optical Feedback Tolerance of a Detuned DBR Laser for 10-Gbps Isolator-Free Operation
The optical feedback tolerance (OFT) of a distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) laser was investigated experimentally. The static and modulation performance of the DBR laser under optical feedback was examined by evaluating its relative intensity noise (RIN)

Preparation and novel photoluminescence properties of the self-supporting nanoporous InP thin films
Self-supporting nanoporous InP membranes are prepared by electrochemical etching, and are then first transferred to highly reflective (> 96%) mesoporous GaN (MP-GaN) distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) or quartz substrate. By the modulation of bandgap, the

All-fibre photonic crystal distributed Bragg reflector (PC-DBR) fibre laser
We describe an Er3+-doped aluminosilicate core photonic crystal fibre laser incorporating distributed Bragg reflectors written by two-photon 193nm irradiation through an optical phase mask as the feedback elements. The laser is diode pumped at 980nm and evidence of dual linewidth laser operation close to threshold is observed.

Characterization of frequency drift of sampled-grating DBR laser module under direct modulation [PDF]
The authors demonstrate the drift in frequency of a static sampled-grating distributed Bragg reflector (SG DBR) laser module when it is subjected to direct modulation.
