Distributed Bragg Reflector Laser Based on Composite Fiber Heavily Doped with Erbium Ions

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
A distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) laser with a specially designed, heavily Er3+-doped composite fiber of a length as short as 1.8 cm is demonstrated. The DBR laser, pumped by a 980 nm laser diode with power of up to 370 mW, generates single-frequency ...

1060nm Vernier-Tuned Distributed Bragg Reflector (VT-DBR) Laser for Swept-Source OCT

open access: yesFrontiers in Optics 2015, 2015
We report the first wavelength-tunable 1060nm VT-DBR laser for use in SS-OCT applications. Electrical measurements demonstrate 1-3 nanosecond step response times for wavelength tuning. Optical linewidths less than 10 MHz are measured using self-homodyne interferometry.

Optically pumped GaN-based vertical cavity surface emitting laser with strain-compensated AlGaN/InGaN distributed Bragg reflector

open access: yesApplied Physics Express
We proposed a strain-compensated distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) with high reflectivity and a practical growth time. The DBR consists of AlGaN/GaN multilayer as the low refractive index layer and InGaN as the high refractive index layer.

A Tamm plasmon-porous GaN distributed Bragg reflector cavity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
This paper reports on design, measurement and optimisation of a Tamm plasmon metal-distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) cavity for use in the green part of the visible spectrum.

Multispectral SNSPD Using a Modified Distributed Bragg Reflector, Gold Mirror, and Multilayer-Nanowire Structures

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
A multispectral superconducting nanowire single-photon detector (SNSPD) that is sensitive to different incident photon wavelength bands, is proposed. The SNSPD consists of a distributed Bragg reflector (DBR), a gold mirror, and two regions employing four

Analysis of self-pulsating three-section DBR lasers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The characteristics of a three-section distributed Bragg reflector laser showing self-pulsation have been analyzed using a large signal time-domain traveling-wave simulator. The device dynamic properties have been investigated in all their complexity and

Preparation and novel photoluminescence properties of the self-supporting nanoporous InP thin films

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2020
Self-supporting nanoporous InP membranes are prepared by electrochemical etching, and are then first transferred to highly reflective (> 96%) mesoporous GaN (MP-GaN) distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) or quartz substrate. By the modulation of bandgap, the

Electroabsorption modulator-integrated distributed Bragg reflector laser diode for C-band WDM-based networks

open access: yesETRI Journal, 2023
We report an electroabsorption modulator (EAM)-integrated distributed Bragg reflector laser diode (DBR-LD) capable of supporting a high data rate and a wide wavelength tuning.

Modulation Bandwidth Enhancement in Distributed Reflector Laser Based on Identical Active Layer Approach

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2018
We demonstrate a distributed reflector (DR) laser with the distributed feedback (DFB) section and the distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) section sharing the same multiple-quantum-well structure.

A wavelength-tunable short-cavity DBR laser with active distributed Bragg reflector

open access: yesIEICE Electronics Express, 2005
The incorporation of an active single-quantum well in the tuning layer of a DBR laser is proposed as a way of compensating for optical loss and achieving stable single-mode operation during wavelength tuning. Experimental results demonstrate that the structure achieves these goals while maintaining the efficiency of tuning.
