Offset quantum-well method for tunable distributed Bragg reflector lasers and electro-absorption modulated distributed feedback lasers [PDF]
A two-section offset quantum-well structure tunable laser with a tuning range of 7 nm was fabricated using offset quantum-well method. The distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) was realized just by selectively wet etching the multiquantum-well (MQW) layer ...

In situ transmission electron microscopy (TEM) reveals real‐time degradation pathways in O3‐type LiNiO2 cathodes during cycling. Phase transitions, Li/Ni cation mixing, oxygen loss, and c‐axis expansion are mapped using HRTEM, 4D‐STEM, and electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS), linking structural instability to hindered Li+ diffusion.

Tuning Vibrational Coupling Strength Between Hyperbolic Media and Organic Molecules
Molecular polaritons, hybrid modes formed by vibrational bond modes and optical modes, typically in cavities, are investigated with the intent of inducing stronger coupling for the purpose of targeted control in a variety of application spaces. Here, we focus on decreasing mode volumes and assessing a variety of tuning parameters to increase coupling ...

Distributed Bragg Reflector Based on Plasmonic Ag: Plasma Polymer Nanocomposites
This paper presents a comprehensive approach for the optical design and validation of silver nanocomposite‐based Distributed Bragg Reflectors (DBRs). It describes deriving material properties (n, k) and using them to predict the performance of the deposited optical stack, as well as to characterize imperfections in the DBR deposition, or even to ...
