Modeling flight departure delay distributions

2014 International Conference on Computer, Control, Informatics and Its Applications (IC3INA), 2014
In this paper, we construct a probability distribution for flight departure delay durations. The probability distribution is developed by fitting historical departure delay data of an airline to a number of probability distributions. Then, we choose the most fitted model by applying two-stage Genetic Algorithm.

Delay-dependent stability condition for systems with distributed delays

Fifth World Congress on Intelligent Control and Automation (IEEE Cat. No.04EX788), 2004
The delay-dependent stability of a class of linear systems with distributed delays was investigated. By choosing proper Lyapunov function, delay-dependent stability conditions of this class of systems are formulated in terms of existence of positive definite solutions to a linear matrix equation.

Synchronized patterns induced by distributed time delays

Physical Review E, 2008
Considering the fact that the distances between coupled oscillators may delay the receiving of signals, we study here the influence of uniformly distributed delays in an array of coupled pendulums instead of studying the influence of the coupling strength.

Attrition in Distributed Delay Models

IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, 1977
Distributed time delay models are extended to deal with loss of entities from within the process being modeled. Analysis of a time-invariant distributed delay shows that the statistics of individual transit times through a delay process can be very sensitive to attrition incurred during the delay.

Positive Systems with Distributed Delays

2017
This chapter is concerned with the \(L_{\infty }\)-gain analysis problem for positive linear systems with distributed delays. Inspired by the results in Chap. 2, for positive systems with distributed delays, it is natural to ask how distributed delays affect the \(L_\infty \)-gain. In this chapter, we provide a complete answer to this question.

Delay distributions in railway stations

2001
The estimation of the precise arrival and departure times of trains at stations is done by means of a software tool that extracts the occupation and clearance times of each train per track section of the Dutch Railways‘ network. The software tool was applied to the whole automatically collected set of signal data of the area of Eindhoven during one ...
