SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT FOR DISTRIBUTED SYSTEMS
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1986This paper proposes a paradigm for the development of software for distributed systems. The development of paradigms of software development is traced from language based paradigms through to those inherent in support environments. The π-paradigm being developed in the ESPRIT Peacock project is introduced.

On the development paradigm of distributed applications
Proceedings of 1994 International Conference on Parallel and Distributed Systems, 2002We propose an ideal development paradigm facilitating the implementation of distributed applications. In this paradigm a developer focuses his mind only on the application itself and does not need to spend time on application-unrelated activities. The programming style is nearly consistent with that of centralized system.

Distributed application development with Inferno
Proceedings of the 36th annual ACM/IEEE Design Automation Conference, 1999Distributed computing has taken on a new importance in order to meet the requirements of users demanding information "anytime, anywhere". Inferno facilitates the creation and support of distributed services in the new and emerging world of network environments. These environments include a world of varied terminals, network hardware, and protocols. The

Adopting Agile in Distributed Development
2008 IEEE International Conference on Global Software Engineering, 2008Key challenges of finding right skilled resources and the cost arbitrage factors have made distributed software development indispensable for quite some time now. The success stories of many offshore service providers particularly from India underlines the fact that this is working well in a "hands-free" mode, especially for projects following ...

Developing the distributed-computing OS
Computer, 2002Researchers are exploring the world of distributed computing, in which users in various locations can work with the same set of geographically dispersed resources. These efforts have led to such high-profile technologies as peer-to-peer (P2P), pervasive, and nomadic computing.

DEVELOPMENT OF DISTRIBUTED CONTROL SYSTEMS
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1979Abstract The development of Distributed Control Systems requires management teams integrated by Marketing, Design and Development Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering Departments. These teams plan, organize, and control company resources to provide users with cost-effective systems, more reliable and useful than centralized integrated ...

Developing an undergraduate distributed development course
32nd Annual Frontiers in Education, 2003This paper describes the curricular development and implementation of an undergraduate distributed application engineering course. The course was created in response to overwhelming demand by students and faculty to integrate material on Internet and world wide web technologies into a traditional computer science curriculum.

Software Development for Distributed Systems
Computer, 1975My prime interest in participating in this session is to project the applicability of SP to the development of software for Distributed Computer Systems (such as the UC Irvine Distributed Computer System and the CMU C.MMP). The difficulties common to all software design and development efforts are made even more acute when writing software for a DCS ...
