Continuously tunable distributed feedback polymer laser

open access: yesOptics Express, 2018
A fanshaped structure is proposed to achieve a continuously tunable polymer laser. The structure with gradual periods is fabricated by electron beam lithography, which acts as a distributed feedback cavity for the polymer laser. A light-emitting polymer is spin-coated on the cavity to form an active layer. The pump beam is focused by a cylindrical lens

Artifact‐Minimizing Ultrathin Transparent Electrodes Fabricated via iCVD for In Vivo Optogenetic Stimulation and Neural Signal Monitoring of Primary Visual Cortex

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We present ultrathin flexible transparent electrodes through iCVD‐enabled molecular control of 10 nm gold films on poly(dimethylaminomethylstyrene). In vivo validation demonstrated photoelectric artifact reduction vs. opaque electrodes and preservation of natural neural dynamics.

Inkjet-printed perovskite distributed feedback lasers

open access: yesOptics Express, 2018
We report on digitally printed distributed feedback lasers on flexible polyethylene terephthalate substrates based on methylammonium lead iodide perovskite gain material. The perovskite lasers are printed with a digital drop-on-demand inkjet printer, providing full freedom in the shape and design of the gain layer. We show that adjusting the perovskite

Self‐Sintering Ionogel Binder for Flexible, Recyclable, and Healable Printed Giant Magnetoresistive Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Electronic waste has emerged as a major environmental challenge, driven by the massive consumption and a limited lifetime of modern electronic devices, stimulating the development of sustainable electronics. Here, an all‐biomaterial gelatin‐choline‐citric acid ([Ch][CA]) ionogel is developed as an active binder to realize self‐sintered ...

Model for distributed feedback Brillouin lasers

open access: yesOptics Express, 2013
We present a propagation model for the dynamics of distributed feedback Brillouin lasers. The model is applied to the recently demonstrated DFB Brillouin laser based on a π-phase shifted grating in a highly nonlinear silica fiber. Steady state results agree with the experimental values for threshold and efficiency.

Halide‐Dependent Photoluminescence and Heavy‐Atom Effects in Low‐Melting Organic–Inorganic Manganese Halides

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Two pyridinium‐based ionic liquid templated hybrid manganese halides, (C4Py)2[MnCl4] and (C4Py)2[MnBr4], display similar bulk structures but show significantly different photoluminescence behaviors due to the bromine heavy‐atom effect. Their stable local Mn environments remain intact even in the molten state, allowing applications such as luminescence ...
