Distributed entanglement generation from asynchronously excited qubits
The generation of GHZ states calls for simultaneous excitation of multiple qubits. The peculiarity of such states is reflected in their nonzero distributed entanglement which is not contained in other entangled states.

RAD50 missense variants differentially affect the DNA damage response and mitotic progression
RAD50 incorporates into the MRN complex and initiates the DNA damage response. Furthermore, RAD50 promotes mitotic progression. RAD50 missense variants capable of forming an MRN complex supported the DNA damage response and mitotic features to different extents in complementation experiments, indicating these functions are separable and might impact ...

Operation of distributed generation under stochastic prices [PDF]
The ongoing deregulation of electricity industries worldwide is providing incentives for microgrids, entities that use small-scale distributed generation (DG) and combined heat and power (CHP) ap- plications to meet local energy loads, to evolve ...

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

On the generalized Poisson distribution [PDF]
We use Euler's difference lemma to prove that, for θ > 0 and 0 ≤λ < 1, the function Pn defined on the non‐negative integers by P n (θ, λ) = [θ(θ + nλ)n−1/n!]e−nλ−θdefines a probability distribution, known as the Generalized Poisson Distribution.

Plasmodium falciparum gametogenesis essential protein 1 (GEP1) is a transmission‐blocking target
This study shows Plasmodium falciparum GEP1 is vital for activating sexual stages of malarial parasites even independently of a mosquito factor. Knockout parasites completely fail gamete formation even when a phosphodiesterase inhibitor is added. Two single‐nucleotide polymorphisms (V241L and S263P) are found in 12%–20% of field samples.

Methodology for testing loss of mains detection algorithms for microgrids and distributed generation using real-time power hardware–in-the-loop based technique [PDF]
The effective integration of distributed energy resources in distribution networks demands powerful simulation and test methods in order to determine both system and component behaviour, and understand their interaction.

Angiotensin II (AngII), a neuropeptide, interacts with amyloid‐β (Aβ), a key player in Alzheimer's disease. This study reveals that AngII reduces Aβ aggregation and membrane disruption in vitro. Biophysical assays and molecular modeling suggest AngII binds disordered Aβ forms, potentially modulating early amyloidogenic events and contributing to ...
