Distribution and Morphology of Somatostatin Cells

1985
After its isolation from the hypothalamus as a neuroendocrine regulator of anterior pituitary growth hormone secretion, somatostatin was rapidly shown to possess many extrapituitary actions and to be widely distributed in the body. Somatostatin was, hence, found to be a potent inhibitor of the secretion of insulin, glucagon, gastrin and several other ...

Morphology and Distribution of Miss

2012
Abstract Microbially induced sedimentary structures (MISS) were studied on siliciclastic and carbonate tidal flats of Texas to investigate the influence of sediment on the types and distribution of these biosedimentary structures. Carbonate MISS were studied on the wind tidal flats adjacent to Laguna Madre, whereas tidal flats next to

The distribution and morphology of corticogeniculate axons in ferrets

Brain Research, 1990
This study examined the distribution of axons in the lateral geniculate (LGN) and adjacent nuclei following injections of wheat germ agglutinin bound to horseradish peroxidase (WGA-HRP), [3H]proline and Biocytin into area 17 in ferrets. Terminal label was found in the LGN, perigeniculate (PGN), medial interlaminar (MIN) and lateral posterior (LP ...

Morphology and distribution of cytoplasmic inclusions in adrenoleukodystrophy

Journal of the Neurological Sciences, 1981
We report some additional observations on the pathognomonic cytoplasmic inclusions in a typical case of adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD). Study of the linear inclusions by means of tilt-stage electron microscopy indicated that they represent trilaminar sheet-like structures distinct from materials seen in various other storage disorders.

Morphology and Dopant Distribution in Polyacetylene

Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals, 1981
Abstract We report the results of scanning electron microscopic stadies of the morpology and dopant distribution in polyacetylene, (CH)x. A variety of fibrillar and rod-like morphologies were observed for trans-(CH)x and (CH)x doped with iodine and AsF5.
