Power estimation method of low-voltage distributed photovoltaic generation based on similarity aggregation

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2021
Regarding to the issue that there is no automatic data acquisition for low-voltage distributed photovoltaic generation, a power estimation method for low-voltage distributed photovoltaic generation based on similarity aggregation is proposed in this ...

CFD-based optimization of aperture geometry for reducing forced convection losses in a cylindrical cavity receiver of a dish/stirling system

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering
Convective heat losses due to airflow recirculation at the cavity aperture are among the main efficiency limitations of Dish/Stirling solar receivers. While previous studies have primarily focused on internal modifications or advanced working fluids to ...

Impact of advanced inverter functions on low‐voltage power grids

open access: yesIET Energy Systems Integration, 2021
In today's power grid, a great number of inverter‐based distributed energy resources (DERs) are connected and are mainly designed to supply power without considering the voltage and frequency deviations of the grid.

Energy management optimization strategy of DC microgrid based on consistency algorithm considering generation economy

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2023
Renewable and clean energy power generation has effectively reduced the carbon emissions of thermal power generation. Vigorously developing renewable energy power generation is an important way to achieve the dual carbon goal.

Disordered but rhythmic—the role of intrinsic protein disorder in eukaryotic circadian timing

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Unstructured domains known as intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) are present in nearly every part of the eukaryotic core circadian oscillator. IDRs enable many diverse inter‐ and intramolecular interactions that support clock function. IDR conformations are highly tunable by post‐translational modifications and environmental conditions, which ...

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...
