Strategies to Increase the Transient Active Power of Photovoltaic Units during Low Voltage Ride Through

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
Due to a limitation in the magnitude of the three-phase output inverter currents, the output active power of the photovoltaic (PV) unit has been de-rated during low voltage ride through, which brings great instability risk to the power system.

Establishing an Apheresis Medicine Program in a Resource‐Constrained Setting: A 5‐Year Experience From Lagos, Nigeria

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Establishing a comprehensive apheresis medicine program in a resource‐constrained setting presents significant structural, financial, and logistical challenges. Despite the growing clinical importance of apheresis services globally, published experience from sub‐Saharan Africa remains sparse.

An infrared, Raman, and X-ray database of battery interphase components

open access: yesScientific Data
Further improvements to lithium-ion and emerging battery technologies can be enabled by an improved understanding of the chemistry and working mechanisms of interphases that form at electrochemically active battery interfaces. However, it is difficult to

Investigation of SiOx anode fading mechanism with limited capacity cycling

open access: yesAPL Materials, 2022
Silicon suboxide (SiOx) is one of the promising anode materials for the next-generation lithium-ion batteries. However, SiOx has a severe capacity fading problem during cycling.

An Electromagnetic Var Compensator Suitable for Wind Power Access and Its Control Strategy

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
As the proportion of large-scale wind farms and distributed wind power connected to the power grid increases annually, the effects of their intermittent and random characteristics on the active and reactive power fluctuations of the power grid are ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Private information retrieval in distributed storage systems using an arbitrary linear code [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Symposium on Information Theory, 2016
We propose an information-theoretic private information retrieval (PIR) scheme for distributed storage systems where data is stored using a linear systematic code of rate R> 1/2.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Entropy weight and grey relational analysis based virtual capacitance collaborative control for multiple energy storage units

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, 2023
Flexible virtual capacitance control (FVCC) for converter can improve the stability and dynamics of DC bus voltage, but among multiple converters, essential inertia distribution is capable of optimizing the performance.
