A P2P Electricity-Carbon Trading Mechanism for Distributed Prosumers Based on Carbon Emission Flow Model

open access: yesShanghai Jiaotong Daxue xuebao
It is necessary to consider the carbon emission trading between prosumers when designing a distributed transaction mechanism in a distribution system.

Distributed lock management for mobile transactions

open access: yesProceedings of 15th International Conference on Distributed Computing Systems, 2002
We present a new lock management scheme which allows a read unlock for an item to be executed at any copy site of that item; the site may be different from the copy site on which the read lock is set. The scheme utilizes the replicated copies of data items to reduce the message costs incurred by the mobility of the transaction host. We demonstrate this

Long‐Term Survival, Burden of Disease, and Patient‐Centered Outcomes in Maximally Treated Intracerebral Hemorrhage

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Increasing evidence shows that patients with intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) can achieve better‐than‐expected outcomes with aggressive therapy. However, real‐world long‐term data, patient‐centered outcomes, and societal measures after maximal ICH treatment are lacking.

Lion: Minimizing Distributed Transactions through Adaptive Replica Provision (Extended Version) [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Distributed transaction processing often involves multiple rounds of cross-node communications, and therefore tends to be slow. To improve performance, existing approaches convert distributed transactions into single-node transactions by either migrating co-accessed partitions onto the same nodes or establishing a super node housing replicas of the ...

On the Design of Communication and Transaction Anonymity in Blockchain-Based Transactive Microgrids [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
Transactive microgrids are emerging as a transformative solution for the problems faced by distribution system operators due to an increase in the use of distributed energy resources and a rapid acceleration in renewable energy generation, such as wind and solar power.

Taming the Beast of User-Programmed Transactions on Blockchains: A Declarative Transaction Approach [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Blockchains are being positioned as the "technology of trust" that can be used to mediate transactions between non-trusting parties without the need for a central authority. They support transaction types that are native to the blockchain platform or user-defined via user programs called smart contracts.

Data‐driven forecasting of ship motions in waves using machine learning and dynamic mode decomposition

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
Summary Data‐driven forecasting of ship motions in waves is investigated through feedforward and recurrent neural networks as well as dynamic mode decomposition. The goal is to predict future ship motion variables based on past data collected on the field, using equation‐free approaches.
