Using transactions in distributed applications
Digest of Papers Compcon Spring '90. Thirty-Fifth IEEE Computer Society International Conference on Intellectual Leverage, 2002An extended example is presented to illustrate the use of atomic transactions in implementing distributed programs. It is shown that transactions can be used to control concurrency and recover from failures, making it relatively easy to write programs that access and modify distributed and even replicated data.

Correctness of a distributed transaction system
Information Systems, 1983A distributed transaction system manages information that is dispersed over a number of storage devices. This paper deals with an experimental transaction system designed to satisfy real-time constraints through distributed control of the executions of transactions. Of interest is the correctness of the algorithm for distributed control.

Distributed Archives Transaction System
2010This project will develop tools for accessing digitized collections in the humanities via a system that provides universal communication with multiple database types and that simultaneously protects the integrity of original data sets. Because the proposed system cuts across database types and sources, in order to establish ease in gathering ...

Serialization in a Distributed Transaction Environment
1998Transaction serialization is desirable because it enforces database consistency constraints, both local and global. Global constraints span more than one database site; local constraints refer to IE residing at every single networked database.

Distributed transaction processing in the IBC
1994Commercial services deployed within the IBC will be offered against some form of payment. Furthermore, the ability of grouping several services together will, in many occurrences, become a true requirement. For example, planning for a trip may only be meaningful if flights and hotels are both booked.
