Coordinated optimization of visual cortical maps : 2. Numerical studies
In the juvenile brain, the synaptic architecture of the visual cortex remains in a state of flux for months after the natural onset of vision and the initial emergence of feature selectivity in visual cortical neurons. It is an attractive hypothesis that

Global distribution models for the major bamboo (Poaceae, Bambusoideae) clades [PDF]
The bamboos (Poaceae, Bambusoideae) are important ecological and economic resources distributed across five continents. Maps of the distribution of the four major bamboo clades are popular in the scientific and trade literature.

Determinants of the distribution of utility-scale photovoltaic power facilities across the globe
Photovoltaic power (PV) is the fastest-growing source of renewable electricity. Making reliable scenarios of PV deployment requires information on what drives the spatial distribution of PV facilities.

A Bibliometric Analysis of Publications in Uremic Toxins From 1991 to 2024
ABSTRACT Background Uremic toxins are a growing area of research in nephrology, with significant implications in the progression and treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and the management of end‐stage kidney disease (ESKD). This bibliometric analysis aims to evaluate the global research trends, key contributors, and the impact of publications in ...

The contact mappings of a flat (2,3,5)-distribution [PDF]
Let $Ω$ and $Ω'$ be open subsets of a flat $(2,3,5)$-distribution. We show that a $C^1$-smooth contact mapping $f : Ω\to Ω'$ is a $C^\infty$-smooth contact mapping. Ultimately, this is a consequence of the rigidity of the associated stratified Lie group (the Tanaka prolongation of the Lie algebra is of finite-type).
