Evaluation of Juice Processing Characteristics of Blueberry from Different Cultivars

open access: yesShipin gongye ke-ji
This study evaluated the juice processing characteristics of seven typical blueberry fruit cultivars: Windsor, Susieblue, Lanmei 1, Sharpblue, Sweetheart, Titan, and Gardenblue from three major strains (Southern highbush, Northern highbush and rabbiteye).

Efficacy and Tolerability of Topotecan/Cyclophosphamide/Dinutuximab in Relapsed and Refractory High‐Risk Neuroblastoma: A Multi‐Institutional Retrospective Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Chemoimmunotherapy with irinotecan, temozolomide, and dinutuximab (I/T/DIN) has emerged as first‐line therapy for relapsed/refractory (r/r) high‐risk neuroblastoma (HRNB) in North America. Topotecan and cyclophosphamide (T/C) are often used in combination with dinutuximab in the setting of lack of response, progression, or incomplete ...

Slim and scum: Natural products from land and sea [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
To a natural-products chemist, the term "natural products" does not refer to all compounds from natural sources, as the name might imply. It is specifically used to refer to compounds known as secondary metabolites, structurally complex molecules, often ...

Molecular Methods for Rare Hemoglobinopathy Cases: First Brazilian Report of Pediatric Siblings with Hb O‐Arab and Alpha‐Thalassemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hemoglobinopathies are prevalent globally; diagnosis is complex in high genetic admixture populations like Brazil. We report, in two pediatric siblings, the first documented cases in Brazil of heterozygosity for hemoglobin (Hb) O‐Arab with coinheritance of α‐thalassemia (αα/−α4.2; −α3.7/−α4.2), resulting in microcytic and hypochromic anemia ...

Experimental prototype of silo-dryer-aerator of grains using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) system

open access: yesActa Scientiarum: Technology, 2019
The aim of this study was to size up and evaluate a fixed bed experimental silo-dryer-aerator with four static grain drying cells for segregation lots, through simulations with mathematical equations and a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) system.

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

Measurements of the communication noise level on the internal roads of the manufacturing metallurgical enterprise

open access: yesMetalurgija, 2012
This publication shows the results of measurements of the noise level emitted by the motor trucks on the internal roads of the steelworks. The distribution of the metallurgical products with the use of trucks is, next to the rail transport, one of the ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Synthesis of Spinel Ferrites in Radiofrequency Thermal Plasma Reactor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Formation of nanosized zinc-ferrites and nickel-zinc ferrites from iron- and zinc oxide powders and corresponding nitrate solutions, respectively, was studied in RF thermal plasma conditions.
