Analisis Curah Hujan untuk Pendugaan Debit Puncak dengan Metode Rasional pada Das Besitang dan Das Lepan

open access: yes, 2008
The calculation of flood discharge by using the flood method for rational design of the building flooded require data in the rain intensity and duration of a particular period of re-obtained from Intensity Duration Frequency (IDF) curve.

Repeatable patterns in the distribution of freshwater biodiversity indicators across contrasting landscapes [PDF]

open access: yes
Context Freshwater biodiversity is declining at unparalleled rates, but fundamental questions remain over how it is distributed at the spatial scales most relevant for conservation management.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

The improvement of voltage sags pattern approach to locate a fault in distribution network

open access: yes, 2010
This paper describes an improvement of a faulted section identification method. The improvement has made the method not only able to identify a faulted section, but at the same time calculate fault distance from one-end of the faulted section.

Mediated distribution pattern of organic compounds in estuarine sediment by anthropogenic debris

open access: yes, 2016
Natural organic matter and grain size are considered as important parameters dictating the transport and fate of organic compounds in sediment. However, increasing evidence suggested that manufactured debris may alter the underlying mechanisms for ...

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Distribution Pattern of Volcanic Ash Essential Elements on the Top Layer of Agricultural Land Post Merapi Eruption in Sleman

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Chemistry, 2019
Volcanic ash contains essential elements to the soil fertility of agricultural land which is important to be investigated. The aim of this study was to determine the distribution pattern of volcanic ash essential elements as a result of volcanic eruption

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Distribution Patterns and Conservation Planning of Paleontological Geosites: A Case Study from the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei Region, China

open access: yesQuaternary
China has made significant progress in paleontological heritage conservation. However, research and conservation efforts have predominantly focused on exquisitely preserved, movable specimens of high scientific value, leading to the relative neglect of ...
