Distributed graph pattern matching

Proceedings of the 21st international conference on World Wide Web, 2012
Graph simulation has been adopted for pattern matching to reduce the complexity and capture the need of novel applications. With the rapid development of the Web and social networks, data is typically distributed over multiple machines. Hence a natural question raised is how to evaluate graph simulation on distributed data.

Distribution Patterns and Sampling

The spatial pattern of plant-parasitic nematode populations in an agricultural or natural ecosystem has two major components: the horizontal distribution and the vertical distribution of the organism throughout the soil or tillage. This chapter discusses both distribution patterns, with emphasis on their origin and how this knowledge can be applied in ...

Distribution patterns in generalized vitiligo

Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, 2013
AbstractBackgroundVitiligo is a common pigmentation disorder affecting approximately 1% of the world population. Nonetheless, its distribution pattern is not well investigated.ObjectiveThe aim of this study was to investigate whether the distribution pattern of vitiligo is dependent on the clinical characteristics.MethodsA total of 700 generalized ...

The Pattern of a Host-Parasite Distribution

The Journal of Parasitology, 1972
The pattern of density of the microfilaria Chandlerella quiscali among host specimens of the gnat Culicoides crepuscularis was fitted to the negative binomial distribution. Variations in the density of microfilariae in peripheral circulation of the grackle Quiscalus quiscula versicolor were suggested as the reason for the clumped density of nematodes ...

On Some Distributions and Their Pattern Entropies

2006 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2006
We study the block entropy of patterns of sequences generated by uniform and monotonic memoryless source distributions. In the former case, the pattern entropy decreases the most from the memoryless entropy, and in the latter the least. General upper and lower bounds are presented and then applied to these distributions.

The pattern of glycogen distribution in the liver

American Journal of Anatomy, 1968
AbstractThe behaviour of glycogen in the rat liver under conditions of fasting, refeeding, and cortisone administration has been investigated in a combined chemical and histochemical study. In contrast to the observations of others the distribution of glycogen in the liver was found to be reasonably uniform.

The distributional pattern of diverticular disease

Diseases of the Colon & Rectum, 1989
In Western communities diverticular disease occurs mainly in the sigmoid colon. This contrasts with Oriental populations, in which diverticula occur mainly in the right colon. Diverticular disease has recently emerged in black South Africans. This study shows that diverticula in this population occurs predominantly in the descending colon. The variable

Invasive Patterns for Distributed Programs

2007
Software patterns have evolved into a commonly used means to design and implement software systems. Programming patterns, architecture and design patterns have been quite successful in the context of sequential as well as (massively) parallel applications but much less so in the context of distributed applications over irregular communication ...

On mixture distributions in pattern recognition

Information Sciences, 1972
Abstract This paper is concerned with the analysis of a class of problems involving mixture variates (functions of several random variables). The explicit inclusion of a mixture as a separate category in pattern recognition problems is studied and plausible forms for the mixing densities in such problems are derived.

Distribution Pattern of Cochlear Harmonics

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1969
This study is designed to determine whether or not traveling waves accompany harmonic distortion products generated in the cochlea, and also to describe the amplitude distribution of these nonlinear components. Cochlear microphonics were monitored with the differential electrode technique from the first and third turns of guinea pig cochleas ...
