Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

Wavelet transform-based impulse fault pattern recognition in distribution transformers

open access: yes, 2003
This letter presents a novel approach using the wavelet transform to classify the patterns inherent in different fault currents during impulse testing of distribution transformers.

Condition Monitoring Techniques of Power Transformers: A Review [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Operation and Automation in Power Engineering, 2015
Power transformers provide a vital link between the generation and distribution of produced energy. Such static equipment is subjected to abuse during operation in generation and distribution stations and leads to catastrophic failures.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Ester-filled distribution transformers

open access: yes, 2022
The ever increasing demand for electricity in the world is a major cause of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. With increasing numbers of new distribution transformers added every year, the contribution of CO2 emission from transformer increases.
