Space-efficient representation of genomic k-mer count tables
Motivation k-mer counting is a common task in bioinformatic pipelines, with many dedicated tools available. Many of these tools produce in output k-mer count tables containing both k-mers and counts, easily reaching tens of GB.

Local mixture models of exponential families [PDF]
Exponential families are the workhorses of parametric modelling theory. One reason for their popularity is their associated inference theory, which is very clean, both from a theoretical and a computational point of view.

Domains of pseudo-differential operators: a case for the Triebel-Lizorkin spaces
The main result is that every pseudo-differential operator of type 1, 1 and order d is continuous from the Triebel-Lizorkin space Fp,1d to Lp, 1≤p≺∞, and that this is optimal within the Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin scales. The proof also leads to the known

This paper presents a comprehensive study of Plancherel’s theorem and inversion formulae for the Widder–Lambert transform, extending its scope to Lebesgue integrable functions, compactly supported distributions, and regular distributions with compact ...

A review of proton therapy – Current status and future directions
The original rationale for proton therapy was its highly conformal depth‐dose distributions compared to photons, which allow greater sparing of normal tissues and escalation of tumor doses, thus potentially improving outcomes.

Distributions on unbounded moment spaces and random moment sequences
In this paper we define distributions on moment spaces corresponding to measures on the real line with an unbounded support. We identify these distributions as limiting distributions of random moment vectors defined on compact moment spaces and as ...

On the order of summability of the Fourier inversion formula [PDF]
In this article we show that the order of the point value, in the sense of Łojasiewicz, of a tempered distribution and the order of summability of the pointwise Fourier inversion formula are closely related.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Eigenvalue Distributions of Reduced Density Matrices [PDF]
Given a random quantum state of multiple distinguishable or indistinguishable particles, we provide an effective method, rooted in symplectic geometry, to compute the joint probability distribution of the eigenvalues of its one-body reduced density ...

This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These
