Integrated Correction Method of Multi-point Numerical Weather Prediction Wind Speed and Irradiance

open access: yes发电技术, 2022
Numerical weather prediction (NWP) correction is one of the key technologies to improve the accuracy of wind and solar power forecasting. However, there are few researches on the correction of NWP irradiance.

Challenges for a Positive Energy District Framework

open access: yes, 2022
This paper presents the key technical and non-technical challenges for the development of a Positive Energy District (PED) framework. It draws on literature, expert reviews and surveys. Initial findings reveal that there are seven primary interacting factors that cascade from the strategic to the specific, or from international ambitions to contextual ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Characterizing the energy flexibility of buildings and districts

open access: yesApplied Energy, 2018
Abstract The large penetration rate of renewable energy sources leads to challenges in planning and controlling the energy production, transmission, and distribution in power systems. A potential solution is found in a paradigm shift from traditional supply control to demand control.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Smart District Energy Management With Cooperative Microgrids

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
This paper faces the energy management problem of cooperative microgrids in a smart energy district. In particular, the aim of the research work is to propose an innovative optimization model to solve the problem of energy management in a district composed of several microgrids, taking into account uncertainties of key parameters.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
