Supply modes for renewable-based distributed energy systems and their applications: case studies in China

open access: yesGlobal Energy Interconnection, 2020
Distributed energy systems (DES), as an integrated energy system with coupled distributed energy resources, have great potential in reducing carbon dioxide emissions and improving energy efficiencies.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Power-to-hydrogen-and-methanol model based on collaborative optimization of energy flow and material flow

open access: yesGlobal Energy Interconnection
China has abundant renewable energy resources. With the establishment of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals, renewable energy sources such as wind power and photovoltaics have undergone tremendous development.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

District heat network as a short-term energy storage

open access: yes, 2021
In this article, we show how a revised district heat network control strategy can be employed to utilize the storage capabilities of the network. An optimization problem is formulated, with minimum operating costs as the objective.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Optimization of Heating Systems for Small Towns in Coal-Resource-Based Cities under Low-Carbon Transition [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
Coal-resource-based cities serve as crucial energy supply bases in China. However, their small towns persistently face challenges of high-carbon and inefficient heating systems due to low heat load density, insufficient pipeline coverage, and poor long ...

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Basic methods for automated fault detection and energy data validation in existing district heating systems

open access: yes, 2012
Fault detection and diagnostics (FDD) of district heating substations (DHS) are important activities because malfunctioning components can lead to incorrect billing and waste of energy.
