Diurnal Variation in Some Aspects of Limnology of Gopalpura Tank of District Guna (Madhya Pradesh, India)

open access: yesEnvironment Conservation Journal, 2001
Gopalpura tank is one of the artificial water  bodies of Guna (M. P.). It is used mainly for irrigation  and pisciculture  by the nearby villagers. Diurnal variations  in physico-chemical  factors  such as water  temperature,  pH, dissolved  oxygen ...

Functional Materials for Environmental Energy Harvesting in Smart Agriculture via Triboelectric Nanogenerators

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review explores functional and responsive materials for triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) in sustainable smart agriculture. It examines how particulate contamination and dirt affect charge transfer and efficiency. Environmental challenges and strategies to enhance durability and responsiveness are outlined, including active functional layers ...

Thermoplasmonic Nanorings for Passive Solar‐Responsive Smart Windows in Energy‐Efficient Building Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents scalable silver nanorings with tunable thermoplasmonic properties for smart window applications. By responding to sunlight and environmental changes, the nanorings modulate near‐infrared light and reduce heat transmission. Their unique geometry enables dynamic optical control, offering a promising route toward energy‐efficient ...

Long term variation of the solar diurnal anisotropy of galactic cosmic rays observed with the Nagoya multi-directional muon detector [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We analyze the three dimensional anisotropy of the galactic cosmic ray (GCR) intensities observed independently with a muon detector at Nagoya in Japan and neutron monitors over four solar activity cycles.

Hydrogel Thermostat Inspired by Photoprotective Foliage Using Latent and Radiative Heat Control

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Guided by Populus alba foliage, this hydrogel latent‐radiative thermostat (LRT) actively balances latent and radiative heat fluxes. An LRT switches solar reflectance, maintains high mid‐IR emissivity, and reversibly evaporates/regenerates water, while titanium oxide (TiO2) nanoparticles toughen the film.

Midlatitude ClO during the maximum atmospheric chlorine burden : in situ balloon measurements and model simulations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Chlorine monoxide (ClO) plays a key role in stratospheric ozone loss processes at midlatitudes. We present two balloonborne in situ measurements of ClO conducted in northern hemisphere midlatitudes during the period of the maximum of total inorganic ...

Allosteric Modulation of Pathological Ataxin‐3 Aggregation: A Path to Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type‐3 Therapies

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uncovers a new allosteric site in the Josephin domain of ataxin‐3 targeted by the molecular tweezer CLR01, which modulates protein aggregation, improves synaptic function in neuronal cells, and delays motor dysfunction in animal models.

Diurnal pattern and characteristic of soil respiration and net ecosystem carbon exchange in alpine meadow ecosystem on the northeastern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau

open access: yesEcological Indicators
Analyzing the diurnal pattern of soil respiration is essential for understanding the potential mechanisms of carbon cycle. Additionally, long-term and high temporal frequency soil respiration observations are crucial and valuable at different time scales,

Fluctuating thermal environments of shallow-water rocky reefs in the Gulf of California, Mexico. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
As part of a broad-scale study of the biogeography of rocky reefs in the Gulf of California, Mexico (GOC), we collected a continuous 1-yr temperature time series at ~5 m water depth at 16 sites spanning 5° of latitude and ~700 km along the western ...
