A global climatology of the diurnal variations in sea-surface temperature and implications for MSU temperature trends [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
A global climatology of diurnal variations in sea-surface temperature based on in situ drifting-buoy data has been created. The diurnal warming signal derived from these data correlates well with estimates from a version of the Stuart-Menteth (2004 ...

Ecosystem‐Centered Robot Design: Toward Ecoresorbable Sustainability Robots (ESRs)

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Robots exploring natural ecosystems can support monitoring and conservation, but must adopt ecosystem‐centered design to avoid pollution, waste, and damage. This review proposes guidelines for co‐designing ecoresorbable sustainability robots (ESRs), uniting materials, robotics, and ecological contexts in a single framework.

Thermal Variations in the Hyporheic Zone of a Karst Stream [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Speleology, 2006
This investigation quantifies how temperatures in the streambed sediments of a karst stream fluctuate in relation to discharge, seasonal, and diurnal temperature variations as the stream passes through a karst window.

Diurnal evolution of urban tree temperature at a city scale

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Despite the importance of urban trees’ surface temperature in assessing micro-climate interactions between trees and the surrounding environment, their diurnal evolution has been largely understudied at a city-wide scale due to a lack of effective ...

Diurnal variation of upper air temperatures

open access: yesMAUSAM, 1960
The radiosonde observations for the four synoptic hours 00, 03,12 and 15 GMT for New Delhi Nagpur and Madras have been utilised to study the diurnal variation of upper air temperatures. Nocturnal cooling of the order of 1° to 2° K is indicated. Between the levels 850-300 mb the apparent diurnal range is found to vary from 003° to 4'5°K.

Diurnal and semidiurnal cyclicity of Radon (222Rn) in groundwater, Giardino Spring, Central Apennines, Italy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Understanding natural variations of Rn (222Rn) concentrations is the fundamental prerequisite of using this radioactive gas as a tracer, or even precursor, of natural processes, including earthquakes. In this work, Rn concentrations in groundwater were
