Food Safety and Health, EarlyView.By administering a 4 weeks adenine diet to C57BL/6J mice, we identified 0.2% adenine in purified feed as the optimal chronic kidney disease model. This model induces severe renal damage, gut dysbiosis, uremic toxin accumulation, and CKD mineral bone disorder, providing a clinically relevant platform for mechanistic and therapeutic studies.
