Gender Diversity Index. Measuring persistence
Research in International Business and Finance, 2021Abstract This paper deals with the analysis of the Gender Diversity Index (GDI), which is an Index developed by Solactive AG and is calculated and distributed by this provider. The index tracks the performance of developed world companies that are successfully working towards gender diversity as part of their CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility ...

Proceedings of the 13th annual conference companion on Genetic and evolutionary computation, 2011
A number of diversity measures used in evolutionary computing suffer from 'mis-measuring' the diversity of populations. In this paper, we identify and demonstrate this problem using a carefully engineered test suite of six differently arranged populations.

Index Modulation using Polarization Diversity based Antenna Indexing
2020 International Conference on Communication and Signal Processing (ICCSP), 2020In this paper, we propose the use of polarization diversity based antenna indexing scheme for encoding the information bits without requirement of any additional bandwidth. Two antennas having orthogonal polarization, namely left and right handed circular polarization, are used to transmit the conventionally modulated data.

Hypoentropy as an Index of Diversity
Theory of Probability & Its Applications, 1993Summary: We consider a measure of the diversity of a population based on the \(\lambda\)-measure of hypoentropy introduced by \textit{C. Ferreri} [Statistica 40, 155-168 (1980; Zbl 0454.62004)]. Our purpose is to study its asymptotic distribution as well as its application to testing hypotheses.

An index of functional diversity
Journal of Vegetation Science, 2003Abstract. Functional diversity has been seen as the key to predicting the stability, invasibility, resource capture, nutrient cycling and productivity of communities. However, it has been unclear how to estimate it. Ten criteria for an index of functional diversity are developed. These include that it should reflect the range of characters present and

An index of ecosystem diversity
Ecological Modelling, 1991Abstract An information entropy index is presented to measure ecosystem diversity based on the numbers of components and the strengths of interactions between them.

Phylogenetic skew: an index of community diversity
Molecular Ecology, 2015AbstractThe distribution of divergence times between member species of a community reflects the pattern of species composition. In this study, we contrast the species composition of a community against the meta‐community, which we define as the species composition of a set of target communities.

Bayesian estimation of Shannon's index of diversity
Biometrika, 1979SUMMARY This paper is concerned with methods of estimating Shannon's information measure, and with the sampling properties of those estimates. A Bayesian approach is used to suggest two possible classes of estimators, and their properties are compared with those of the usual Shannon measure of diversity.
