Jackknifing An Index of Diversity
Ecology, 1977The method of jackknifing is introduced for estimating an index of diversity and is illustrated with tree data. The method yields approximately normally distributed jackknife estimates and also gives estimated standard deviations, making possible tests of hypotheses and confidence interval estimates.

Application of Diversity Index in Measurement of Species Diversity
2012Diversity index is a static measure for local members and consists of various types of objects. It is used to measure the local members of a set, and many fields can be studied to evaluate the diversity of any population. For instance, it is used in ecology to measure biodiversity in an ecosystem, in demography to measure the distribution of population

Properties of a Generalized Diversity Index
Journal of Theoretical Biology, 1997Abstract Diversity indices attempt to summarize both the total number of species in a population and the degree of evenness of the species relative abundances. A general diversity index, H (α, β), was proposed by Good (1953) and defined for α and β non-negative integers.

Gender Diversity, Region Diversity, IPR, and H-Index
The new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) both emphasize on quality research, women diversity (WD) and region diversity (RD) at Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in India. Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and H-index are the two indicators of high-quality research.Shravani Kulkarni +4 more

Diversity Index and Informational Concepts
Transactions of the Kansas Academy of Science (1903-), 1969In a recent study of Silurian marine communities of invertebrates, Ziegler, et al., (1968) determined the diversity index using the following relationship: number of species/log of number of individuals. Odum, et al., (1960) and earlier Margalef (1958) noted that when plotted, such curves depict negentropy.

Diversity index estimation by adaptive sampling
Environmetrics, 2002AbstractThe use of diversity indices is adopted in surveys on biological population to quantify species diversity. However, when the population is clustered and spread in a very wide area, usual sampling designs provide estimators with large variances.

Final report on Gender & Diversity Index
As part of the scope, the report aims to identify gaps in gender diversity and inclusion in the European innovation and entrepreneurship landscape, specifically in deep tech areas of interest for the European Innovation Council. The themes analysed range from talent pool availability to access to capital, intellectual property (IP) ownership ...GENDEX Consortium +4 more
