Solitary Diverticulum of the Colon in Childhood
Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, 1961Solitary diverticulum of the descending colon in a child appears to be sufficiently rare to warrant publication; it has not been possible to find a similar case in the literature. This case is even more unusual in that an accurate diagnosis was made on clinical grounds alone by the patient's general practitioner, Dr. S.

CT demonstration of a giant colonic diverticulum
Gastrointestinal Radiology, 1987A case of giant sigmoid colonic diverticulum (GCD) is presented in which plain films showed an unchanging persistent large gas collection that did not opacify on barium enema. The computed tomographic scan revealed the GCD in close apposition to the adjacent sigmoid diverticulosis.

Perforated congenital diverticulum of the sigmoid colon
Journal of Pediatric Surgery, 2002A case of perforation of a congenital sigmoid diverticulum producing diffuse peritonitis in a 4-year-old boy is presented. Physical examination showed an acute abdomen despite a normal computed tomography study. Successful surgical treatment was achieved by excision of the diverticulum, adjacent bowel, and an end-to-end anastomosis.

Giant sigmoid colon diverticulum
European Journal of Radiology Extra, 2008Abstract A case of giant diverticulum of the sigmoid colon, manifesting as pain and abdominal mass is presented. The contrast enhanced CT showed the sigmoid diverticulum as a lesion with air-contrast medium–fluid levels. The case is reported because of its rare CT presentation (air–fluid + fluid–fluid level).
