Twin Defaults and Bank Capital Requirements
ABSTRACT We examine optimal capital requirements in a quantitative general equilibrium model with banks exposed to nondiversifiable borrower default risk. Contrary to standard models of bank default risk, our framework captures the limited upside, but significant downside risk of loan portfolio returns.

Cash Heterogeneity and the Payout Channel of Monetary Policy
ABSTRACT This paper provides novel empirical evidence that cash‐rich firms have higher equity payouts and higher stock prices in response to expansionary monetary policy surprises. Stock prices rise despite weak cash‐flow, investment, and credit responses to monetary policy.
