Aquinas, Divine Simplicity, and Divine Freedom
Proceedings of the American Catholic Philosophical Association, 2003Aquinas maintains that, although God created the universe, he could have created another or simply refrained from creating altogether. Divine Hiddenness and Divine Humility
Sophia, 2013If God exists, and if our ultimate well-being depends on having a positive relationship with Him (which requires as a first step that we believe He exists), why doesn't He make sure that we all believe in Him? Why doesn't He make His existence obvious? This traditional theological question is today much-used as an argument for atheism.
