Pulmonary vasospasm in systemic sclerosis: noninvasive techniques for detection [PDF]
In a subgroup of patients with systemic sclerosis (SSc), vasospasm affecting the pulmonary circulation may contribute to worsening respiratory symptoms, including dyspnea.

Time-based understanding of DLCO and DLNO
Capture of CO and NO by blood requires molecules to travel by diffusion from alveolar gas to haemoglobin molecules inside RBCs and then to react. One can attach to these processes two times, a time for diffusion and a time for reaction. This reaction time is known from chemical kinetics and, therefore, constitutes a unique physical clock.

Faal Paru Difusi [Lung Diffusion: A Review]
Diffusion capacity is useful for measuring ability of pulmonary microcirculation to transfer oxygen and carbon dioxide from alveoli to capillaries. Physiological examination of diffusion is a continuation of physiological examination of ventilation ...

Connective tissue disease related interstitial lung diseases and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis: provisional core sets of domains and instruments for use in clinical trials [PDF]
Rationale Clinical trial design in interstitial lung diseases (ILDs) has been hampered by lack of consensus on appropriate outcome measures for reliably assessing treatment response.

Value of lung diffusing capacity for nitric oxide in systemic sclerosis
A decreased lung diffusing capacity for carbon monoxide (DLCO) in systemic sclerosis (SSc) is considered to reflect losses of alveolar membrane diffusive conductance for CO (DMCO), due to interstitial lung disease, and/or pulmonary capillary blood volume

Clinical predictors of lung function in patients recovering from mild COVID-19
Background Few studies have assessed lung function in Hispanic subjects recovering from mild COVID-19. Therefore, we examined the prevalence of impaired pulmonary diffusing capacity for carbon monoxide (DLCO) as defined by values below the lower limit of

HIV infection is an independent risk factor for decreased 6-minute walk test distance. [PDF]
BackgroundAmbulatory function predicts morbidity and mortality and may be influenced by cardiopulmonary dysfunction. Persons living with HIV (PLWH) suffer from a high prevalence of cardiac and pulmonary comorbidities that may contribute to higher risk of
