Anti‐neutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies associated interstitial pneumonia: A possible new clinical entity

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Clinical Investigation, Volume 55, Issue 7, July 2025.
In a study of 101 idiopathic interstitial pneumonia (IIP) and interstitial pneumonia with autoimmune features (IPAF) patients, 21 (20.8%) were ANCA‐positive. ANCA+ patients had higher rates of NSIP, bronchiectasis, arthralgias, and elevated CRP, with 43% of p‐ANCA+ patients progressing to systemic vasculitis (SV) within 12 months (OR 26.3, p < .0001 ...

Importance of adjusting carbon monoxide diffusing capacity (DLCO) and carbon monoxide transfer coefficient (KCO) for alveolar volume.

open access: yesRespiratory Medicine, 2000
The volume dependence of single breath carbon monoxide diffusing capacity (DLCO) and carbon monoxide transfer coefficient (KCO) was determined in 24 healthy subjects.

Silicosarcoidosis: Histologic and Clinical Features of an Occupational Granulomatous Disease

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Industrial Medicine, Volume 68, Issue 6, Page 491-507, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Sarcoidosis is a multisystem inflammatory disease of unknown etiology. Growing evidence indicates that occupational exposure to respirable crystalline silica (RCS) is associated with an increased incidence of sarcoidosis. Yet a diagnosis of sarcoidosis rarely prompts investigation to identify preventable exposures.

Relationship between diffusion capacity and small airway abnormality in COPDGene

open access: yesRespiratory Research, 2019
Impaired single breath carbon monoxide diffusing capacity (DLCO) is associated with emphysema. Small airways disease (SAD) may be a precursor lesion to emphysema, but the relationship between SAD and DLCO is undescribed. We hypothesized that in mild COPD,

Anesthetic Management of a Patient With an Incidental Vallecular Cyst: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 6, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Vallecular cysts are rare, benign lesions of the epiglottis and adjacent structures, often asymptomatic but with the potential to cause airway obstruction during anesthesia. We report the case of a 50‐year‐old female undergoing elective laparoscopic hysterectomy, during which an incidental vallecular cyst was identified during intubation. This

DLNO/DLCO ratio evolution under targeted therapy in patients with pulmonary hypertension

open access: yesRespiratory Physiology & Neurobiology, 2020
The ratio of the diffusing capacity of the lung for carbon monoxide (DLCO) and for nitric oxide (DLNO) measured simultaneously is modified in patients with precapillary pulmonary hypertension (PH). The potential impact of targeted therapy on the DLCO/DLNO ratio is unknown. Simultaneous measurements of DLNO and DLCO were performed at baseline, 3-4 month

Long‐Term Sequelae of COVID‐19: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis of Symptoms 3 Years Post‐SARS‐CoV‐2 Infection

open access: yesJournal of Medical Virology, Volume 97, Issue 6, June 2025.
ABSTRACT The symptoms of long COVID are well‐documented. However, the long‐term effects beyond 2 years remain poorly understood due to a lack of data. This systematic review and meta‐analysis examined the prevalence of persistent symptoms in COVID‐19 survivors 3 years following initial SARS‐CoV‐2 infection.

Long-term functional course of Sjögren's disease-associated interstitial lung disease

open access: yesERJ Open Research
Background Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is common in primary Sjögren's disease (pSD); its functional course is poorly known. Our aim was to characterise the long-term functional course and prognosis in patients with pSD-ILD.

Prevalence, Risk Factors, Lung Function, and Associated Comorbidities of Adult Preserved Ratio Impaired Spirometry: A Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 6, June 2025.
Comprehensive evidence on PRIsm prevalence, risk factors, lung function, and comorbidities is limited. We performed a meta‐analysis of 32 studies with 1,196,856 participants and found PRISm prevalence at 11%, with risk factors like age, body mass index, smoking, and education. Cardiovascular and endocrine comorbidities are common in PRISm.

Comparing Comorbidity Indices to Predict Survival After Pediatric Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation for Nonmalignant Disease

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, Volume 72, Issue 6, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HCT) is a potentially curative treatment for children with hematological or immunological disorders. However, treatment‐related morbidity and mortality remain concerning. Various comorbidity indices are currently used to assess the risk of complications following pediatric HCT.
