DMFS(e) index for selection of clinical trial subjects

Community Dentistry and Oral Epidemiology, 1985
Abstract The aim of this study was to develop an index for selection of those subjects able to increase the discriminatory ability of experimental clinical trials of caries prophylactic agents. [Progression of DMF index--DMF from 3 to 12 years: need for preventive intervention].

Prevenzione & assistenza dentale, 1991
To evaluate the prevalence of soft deposits and the trend of dmf/DMF index, a group of children between 3 and 12 years of age has been examined. A DMF Index of 5.74 at 12 proves the need to promote educational and prevention programmes in the Ulss 34 area since the WHO program "Health for all in the year 2000" sets a target of a DMF Index below 3 at 12.

Overestimation of Early Childhood Caries Using the dmfs Index.

Pediatric dentistry, 2020

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the dmfs score's accuracy in capturing caries-affected (versus treated) surfaces of crowned/extracted teeth.

[Radiologically determined DMF index variations for forensic age estimation of young adults].

Archiv fur Kriminologie, 2005
The eruption and mineralization of third molars are the main criteria for dental age estimation of living people involved in criminal proceedings. Since the development of third molars is usually completed by the age of 19 or 20 years, this feature cannot be used to ascertain whether a person has attained the forensically relevant age of 21 years.
