DSC and DMTA characterization of ternary blends
Polymer, 2002Abstract The phase behavior of ternary blends made of poly(epichlorohydrin) (PECH), poly(vinyl acetate) (PVAc) and poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) has been investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and dynamic mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA).

DMTA study of a nickel-titanium wire
Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry, 2002The nickel-titanium alloys are usually known as Shape Memory alloys because of their ability to return to some previously defined shape or size when subjected to the appropriate thermal procedure. Mechanical properties of a nickel titanium wire were investigated by DMTA using cylindrical tension mode.

Use of dynamic mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA)
Journal of Thermal Analysis, 1996A Mark III DMTA (Polymer Laboratories, Loughborough, U.K.) was used to measure the glass transition temperatures (Tg) of a commercial cracker and its dough, each equilibrated to various water activities covering a range of 0.11–0.75 for the cracker and 0.11–0.90 for the cracker dough.

A dynamic mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA) study of polyethylenes
Thermochimica Acta, 1991Abstract Differences in mechanical α and β relaxations for a family of six polyethylenes (PE) are discussed in terms of structural variations and immobilization of amorphous chains. An amorphous contribution has been identified in the α transition of high density polyethylenes (HDPE). Further, low density polyethylenes (LDPE) with long chain branches

A DMTA study of the fuel resistance of elastomers
Thermochimica Acta, 1993Abstract One of the major factors that determines the useful lifetime of a polymeric material is the chemical resistance of the polymer to its environment. Knowledge of the chemical resistance of gasket materials to their environment is critical as their failure leads to downtime for the system and increased maintenance costs, as well as fire and ...

One-pot synthesis of DMTA-analogous SiBNC preceramic polymer
Journal of Materials Chemistry, 2012A one-pot synthesis approach for a SiBNC precursor polymer is presented. With respect to composition and structure it is similar to the polymer as produced from the known single-source precursor DMTA (dichloroboryl methyl trichlorosilyl amine), as confirmed by FTIR spectroscopy.

Simulating the formation of bread crust in a DMTA rheometer
Journal of Cereal Science, 2010Water evaporates very fast from the surface layers of dough, enhanced by high heating rates at the beginning of baking. The rheological properties of the surface layers play an important role during the baking process, especially in local and overall expansion and water loss.

Determination of viscoelastic properties with TMA, DMTA and DSC
Thermochimica Acta, 1985Abstract Viscoelastic properties mainly determine the application possibilities of polymers. Because of the generally high sensitivity required to see changes in the elastic properties, thermomechanical methods become increasingly important compared to calorimetric methods. On a sample of thermoplastic PU, and a unidirectional carbon fibre reinforced

Investigations of wood veneer during furfuryl alcohol modification using DMTA
European Journal of Wood and Wood Products, 2015Dynamic mechanical thermal analysis has been used to monitor the change in wood veneer stiffness due to furfuryl alcohol impregnation and plasticization of wood components and subsequent polymerization of furfuryl alcohol within wood material. This explains the improvement in the moulding ability of wood veneer where furfuryl alcohol aids in wood ...
