Genome-Wide Profiling of Circular RNAs in the Rapidly Growing Shoots of Moso Bamboo (Phyllostachys edulis). [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Circular RNAs, including circular exonic RNAs (circRNA), circular intronic RNAs (ciRNA) and exon-intron circRNAs (EIciRNAs), are a new type of noncoding RNAs.

Effects of Circular DNA Length on Transfection Efficiency by Electroporation into HeLa Cells

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
The ability to produce extremely small and circular supercoiled vectors has opened new territory for improving non-viral gene therapy vectors. In this work, we compared transfection of supercoiled DNA vectors ranging from 383 to 4,548 bp, each encoding ...

ShcD adaptor protein drives invasion of triple negative breast cancer cells by aberrant activation of EGFR signaling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identified adaptor protein ShcD as upregulated in triple‐negative breast cancer and found its expression to be correlated with reduced patient survival and increased invasion in cell models. Using a proteomic screen, we identified novel ShcD binding partners involved in EGFR signaling pathways.

Rationalising sequence selection by ligand assemblies in the DNA minor groove : the case for thiazotropsin A [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
DNA-sequence and structure dependence on the formation of minor groove complexes at 5′-XCTAGY-3′ by the short lexitropsin thiazotropsin A are explored based on NMR spectroscopy, isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC), circular dichroism (CD) and ...

Dataset on the effects of spermidine on linking number differences between histone H1-free and histone H1-bound circular polynucleosomes

open access: yesData in Brief, 2018
The data presented in this article are related to the research article entitled ''Quantitative determination of linking number differences between circular polynucleosomes and histone H1-bound circular polynucleosomes'' Zhang et al. (in press) [1].

Expression of catalytic mutants of the mtDNA helicase Twinkle and polymerase POLG causes distinct replication stalling phenotypes. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The mechanism of mitochondrial DNA replication is a subject of intense debate. One model proposes a strand-asynchronous replication in which both strands of the circular genome are replicated semi-independently while the other model proposes both a ...

Targeting the AKT/mTOR pathway attenuates the metastatic potential of colorectal carcinoma circulating tumor cells in a murine xenotransplantation model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dual targeting of AKT and mTOR using MK2206 and RAD001 reduces tumor burden in an intracardiac colon cancer circulating tumor cell xenotransplantation model. Analysis of AKT isoform‐specific knockdowns in CTC‐MCC‐41 reveals differentially regulated proteins and phospho‐proteins by liquid chromatography coupled mass spectrometry. Circulating tumor cells

Programmed pH-Driven Reversible Association and Dissociation of Interconnected Circular DNA Dimer Nanostructures.

open access: yesNano letters (Print), 2016
The switchable pH-driven reversible assembly and dissociation of interlocked circular DNA dimers is presented. The circular DNA dimers are interconnected by pH-responsive nucleic acid bridges. In one configuration, the two-ring nanostructure is separated

Chemoresistome mapping in individual breast cancer patients unravels diversity in dynamic transcriptional adaptation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study used longitudinal transcriptomics and gene‐pattern classification to uncover patient‐specific mechanisms of chemotherapy resistance in breast cancer. Findings reveal preexisting drug‐tolerant states in primary tumors and diverse gene rewiring patterns across patients, converging on a few dysregulated functional modules. Despite receiving the

A simple large-scale method for separating closed circular form DNA by gel electrophoresis [PDF]

open access: yes, 1978
The covalently closed form of circular duplex SV40 DNA was separated from the open and linear form of SV40 DNA by agarose gel electrophoresis in a large-scale gel system.
