Characteristics of the DNA nucleotidyltransferase activity in non-aqueous type calf-thymus nuclei
Abstract Extracts of non-aqueous type calf-thymus nuclei have been fractionated with acid and with ammonium sulphate. The fractions so obtained have been assayed for DNA nucleotidyltransferase (EC 2.7.7.7) activity in the presence and absence of cysteine, and in the presence of one or of four deoxyribonucleoside-5′-triphosphates.

Induction of DNA nucleotidyltransferase by the shope fibroma virus
Abstract DNA nucleotidyltransferase activity is increased in extracts of rabbit kidney cells infected by the Shope fibroma virus and assayed under various conditions. Determination of the optimal conditions for assay shows that there are two separate activities.

DNA nucleotidyltransferase in nuclei and cytoplasm prepared from thymus tissue in non-aqueous media
Abstract Rabbit and calf-thymus nuclei isolated in non-aqueous media in a high degree of purity contain DNA nucleotidyltransferase (EC 2.7.7.7.). Corresponding cytoplasmic preparations from calf thymus also contain the enzyme. The relationship between nucleotidyltransferase and deoxyribonuclease I (EC 3.1.4.5.) activities in nuclear and cytoplasmic ...

DNA nucleotidyltransferase activity of the developing rat brain
Abstract DNA polymerase (deoxynucleoside triphosphate: DNA deoxynucleotidyltransferase, EC 2.7.7.7) activity in soluble extracts from developing rat brain has been studied. The DNA polymerase from infant rat brain required the presence of template DNA, Mg2+ and all four deoxynucleoside triphosphates.

Abstract Difficulties were encountered in the preparation of a regenerating rat liver DNA nucleotidyltransferase fraction which shows a preference for native DNA as primer, using the published methods. An alternative procedure is reported for the rapid isolation of a similar fraction.

Abstract Infection of fathead minnow (FHM) cells with frog virus 3 (FV 3) at 28° induced synthesis of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) polymerase and viral DNA in the cell cytoplasm starting between 1 and 2 hours after infection. By 4 hours, increase in DNA polymerase synthesis terminated and enzyme activity in infected cells was 4–15 times greater than ...
