Combined spatially resolved metabolomics and spatial transcriptomics reveal the mechanism of RACK1‐mediated fatty acid synthesis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The authors analyzed the spatial distributions of gene and metabolite profiles in cervical cancer through spatial transcriptomic and spatially resolved metabolomic techniques. Pivotal genes and metabolites within these cases were then identified and validated.

VL-DNA: Enhance DNA Storage Capacity with Variable Payload (Strand) Lengths [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
DNA storage is a promising archival data storage solution to today's big data problem. A DNA storage system encodes and stores digital data with synthetic DNA sequences and decodes DNA sequences back to digital data via sequencing. For efficient target data retrieving, existing Polymerase Chain Reaction PCR based DNA storage systems apply primers as ...

Crosstalk between gut microbiota and tumor: tumors could cause gut dysbiosis and metabolic imbalance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this research, we analyzed the relationship between gut microbiota and tumor. We discovered that both subcutaneous and metastatic tumors would alter the composition and metabolic function of gut microbiota. Meanwhile, fecal microbiota transplantation also indicated the anti‐tumor role of the gut microbiota, revealing the crosstalk between tumor and ...

Allelic diversity of Ferritin III and PMT IV genes related to iron chlorosis in some citrus rootstocks : S02P07 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Iron (Fe) is one of the most important elements in plant mineral nutrition. Fe deficiency is critical abiotic stress factor for Mediterranean citriculture and the development of marker assisted selection (MAS) for this trait would be a great aid for ...

A new primer set for DNA metabarcoding of soil Metazoa

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Soil Biology, 2016
Reliable evaluations of soil biodiversity represent a key factor in understanding ecosystem services. To date, species-discriminating barcodes efficiently describe bacterial and fungal communities associated with environmental samples, whereas investigations of soil microfauna are often hampered by the lack of a marker region encompassing the taxonomic

Enhanced primers for amplification of DNA barcodes from a broad range of marine metazoans

open access: yesBMC Ecology, 2013
BackgroundBuilding reference libraries of DNA barcodes is relatively straightforward when specifically designed primers are available to amplify the COI-5P region from a relatively narrow taxonomic group (e.g. single class or single order). DNA barcoding
