The pan‐HDAC inhibitor belinostat increases the expression of the pro‐apoptotic proteins Bim, Puma, and Noxa and induces apoptosis in ovarian cancer cell lines and patient‐derived tumor organoids when used at high concentrations. Moreover, inhibiting the anti‐apoptotic proteins Bcl‐xL or Mcl‐1 sensitizes these preclinical models to the cytotoxic effect

Distinct DNA Sequence Preference for Histone Occupancy in Primary and Transformed Cells
Genome-wide occupancy of several histone modifications in various cell types has been studied using chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) sequencing. Histone occupancy depends on DNA sequence features like inter-strand symmetry of base composition and ...

In patients treated with atezolizumab as a part of the MyPathway (NCT02091141) trial, pre‐treatment ctDNA tumor fraction at high levels was associated with poor outcomes (radiographic response, progression‐free survival, and overall survival) but better sensitivity for blood tumor mutational burden (bTMB).

A nucleotide‐independent, pan‐RAS‐targeted DARPin elicits anti‐tumor activity in a multimodal manner
We report a Designed Ankyrin Repeat Protein that binds and inhibits RAS proteins, which serve as central cell signaling hubs and are essential for the progression of many cancers. Its unique feature is that it does not discriminate between different RAS isoforms or mutations and is capable of binding to RAS in both its active (GTP‐bound) and inactive ...

Unraveling LINE‐1 retrotransposition in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma
The novel RetroTest method allows the detection of L1 activation in clinical samples with low DNA input, providing global L1 activity and the identification of the L1 source element. We applied RetroTest to a real‐world cohort of HNSCC patients where we reported an early L1 activation, with more than 60% of T1 patients showing L1 activity.

CGRclust: Chaos Game Representation for twin contrastive clustering of unlabelled DNA sequences
Background Traditional supervised learning methods applied to DNA sequence taxonomic classification rely on the labor-intensive and time-consuming step of labelling the primary DNA sequences.
