Targeted protein degradation in oncology: novel therapeutic opportunity for solid tumours?
Current anticancer therapies are limited by the occurrence of resistance and undruggability of most proteins. Targeted protein degraders are novel, promising agents that trigger the selective degradation of previously undruggable proteins through the recruitment of the ubiquitin–proteasome machinery. Their mechanism of action raises exciting challenges,

Simple Laboratory methods to measure cell proliferation using DNA synthesis property
This is a mini-review on the techniques to measure proliferation of cells by estimation of DNA synthesis. This is not an exhaustive review of literature, but a bird’s eye view of a few selected articles which may provide the technical details to the ...

Options for Synthetic DNA Order Screening, Revisited
Gene synthesis providers affiliated with the International Gene Synthesis Consortium (IGSC) voluntarily screen double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) synthesis orders over 200 bp to check for matches to regulated pathogens and to screen customers.

Rad51 protects nascent DNA from Mre11 dependent degradation and promotes continuous DNA synthesis
The role of Rad51 in an unperturbed cell cycle has been difficult to distinguish from its DNA repair function. Here, using EM to visualize replication intermediates assembled in Xenopus laevis egg extract, we show that Rad51 is required to prevent the ...

Nuclear prothymosin α inhibits epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in lung cancer by increasing Smad7 acetylation and competing with Smad2 for binding to SNAI1, TWIST1, and ZEB1 promoters. In early‐stage cancer, ProT suppresses TGF‐β‐induced EMT, while its loss in the nucleus in late‐stage cancer leads to enhanced EMT and poor prognosis.

We have found that the spontaneous migration of bovine aortic endothelial cells from the edge of a denuded area in a confluent monolayer is dependent upon the release of endogenous basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF).

Determination of ADP/ATP translocase isoform ratios in malignancy and cellular senescence
The individual functions of three isoforms exchanging ADP and ATP (ADP/ATP translocases; ANTs) on the mitochondrial membrane remain unclear. We developed a method for quantitatively differentiating highly similar human ANT1, ANT2, and ANT3 using parallel reaction monitoring. This method allowed us to assess changes in translocase levels during cellular

This study develops a semi‐supervised classifier integrating multi‐genomic data (1404 training/5893 validation samples) to improve homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) detection in breast cancer. Our method demonstrates prognostic value and predicts chemotherapy/PARP inhibitor sensitivity in HRD+ tumours.

Primer Extension Analysis of HBV DNA with Strand-Specific Primers
We performed primer extension assay to determine which steps of HBV DNA synthesis (i.e., minus- and plus-strand DNA synthesis and circularization of RC DNA) are affected by phosphoacceptor site mutations in C protein.
