DNA methylation plays a critical role in tumorigenesis through regulating oncogene activation and tumor suppressor gene silencing. Although extensively analyzed, the implication of DNA methylation in gene regulatory network is less characterized.

Predicting Knot or Catenane Type of Site-Specific Recombination Products
Site-specific recombination on supercoiled circular DNA yields a variety of knotted or catenated products. We develop a model of this process, and give extensive experimental evidence that the assumptions of our model are reasonable. We then characterize

Local sensing of global DNA topology: from crossover geometry to type II topoisomerase processivity
Type II topoisomerases are ubiquitous enzymes that control the topology and higher order structures of DNA. Type IIA enzymes have the remarkable property to sense locally the global DNA topology.

Bio‐Inspired Molecular Events in Poly(Ionic Liquids)
Originating from dipolar and polar inter‐ and intra‐chain interactions of the building blocks, the topologies and morphologies of poly(ionic liquids) (PIL) govern their nano‐ and micro‐processibility. Modulating the interactions of cation‐anion pairs with aliphatic dipolar components enables the tunability of properties, facilitated by “bottom‐up ...

Single DNA conformations and biological function [PDF]
From a nanoscience perspective, cellular processes and their reduced in vitro imitations provide extraordinary examples for highly robust few or single molecule reaction pathways. A prime example are biochemical reactions involving DNA molecules, and the

The repair and regeneration of brain tissue faces both biological and technical challenges. Injectable bioscaffolds offer new opportunities to stimulate tissue regrowth in the brain by recruiting neural stem cells. Here, the translational issues are reviewed that need to be address to advance this promising new therapeutic approach from the bench to ...

Large deviation results for Critical Multitype Galton-Watson trees
In this article, we prove a joint large deviation principle in $n$ for the \emph{empirical pair measure} and \emph{ empirical offspring measure} of critical multitype Galton-Watson trees conditioned to have exactly $n$ vertices in the weak topology. From

Multivalent Protein Nanorings for Broad and Potent SARS‐CoV‐2 Neutralization
A protein‐only, modular multivalent nanoscaffold displaying 20 anchor points, decorated with two different binders (10 of each), targeting the SARS‐CoV‐2 receptor‐binding domain is presented. The construct self‐assembles into stable, biocompatible, homogeneous nanoparticles, exhibit synergistic binding with fM IC50 values. It also detects spike at 9 ng

A robust zinc‐based metal–organic framework (ZnMOF) enables dual functions of doxorubicin delivery and sustained Zn2+ release to trigger ferroptosis‐enhnaced chemotherapy. DOX@ZnMOF effectively depletes intracellular glutathione, suppresses GPX4, and elevates reactive oxygen species, leading to efficient oxidative DNA damage and apoptosis.

Topological Interaction by Entangled DNA Loops
We have discovered a new type of interaction between micro- or nanoscale particles that results from the entanglement of strands attached to their surfaces. Self-complementary DNA single strands on a particle can hybridize to form loops. A similar proximal particle can have its loops catenate with those of the first.
