Detecting and Refactoring Operational Smells within the Domain Name System

open access: yes, 2015
The Domain Name System (DNS) is one of the most important components of the Internet infrastructure. DNS relies on a delegation-based architecture, where resolution of names to their IP addresses requires resolving the names of the servers responsible ...

A Simulation‐Based Study of a Black Phosphorus‐Based Complex Multilayer SPR‐Based Optical Sensor for Wastewater Monitoring

open access: yesElectron, EarlyView.
Theoretically modeling black phosphorus–barium borate–silver multilayer surface plasmon resonance (SPR) configuration for precise detection of pollutants and salinity variations in wastewater. ABSTRACT The increasing global threat of water pollution demands advanced multilayer sensing technologies with efficacy to detect contaminants with high ...

Digital Rights Activism in Multilevel Governance

open access: yesEuropean Policy Analysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Multilevel governance (MLG) without a clear hierarchical structure can create power imbalances among various actors, particularly in settings with overlapping jurisdictions and policy areas. This dynamic is especially pronounced in Internet governance, which faces a complex interplay of domestic laws, state interdependence, and heightened ...

Analysis of Flow Characteristics of Turbulent Plane Jets Based on Velocity and Scalar Fields Using DNS

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology, 2013
Turbulent plane jets are prototypical free shear flows on which fundamental research can expand the overall understanding of turbulent flows. In this study, flow characteristics of the turbulent plane jets are studied by means of direct numerical ...

Formation of Double Neutron Star systems as implied by observations

open access: yes, 2016
Double Neutron Stars (DNS) have to survive two supernovae and still remain bound. This sets strong limits on the nature of the second collapse in these systems.

DNS analysis of multiple impinging jets

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology, 2014
In order to elucidate the heat and flow characteristics of multiple impinging jet (MIJ), we conduct the DNS (direct numerical simulation) of four round impinging jet arranged at an inflow of flow field.

The Sociology of 'The Politics of Jurisprudence' [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This chapter examines the relationship within Jurisprudence between the Sociology and Philosophy of Law, in light of Roger Cotterrell's call for these two to approaches to engage more with each other.

Eccentricities of Double Neutron Star Binaries

open access: yes, 2005
Recent pulsar surveys have increased the number of observed double neutron stars (DNS) in our galaxy enough so that observable trends in their properties are starting to emerge.

Polymer Stress‐Tensor Calculation for a Laminar Submerged Viscoelastic Jet Flow Using Different Constitutive Models

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, EarlyView.
This study presents an efficient method to compute polymer stress‐tensor components in viscoelastic laminar jet flows using models such as Oldroyd‐B, Giesekus, PTT, and FENE. By assuming a stationary and parallel flow, the methodology significantly reduces computational cost.

From catheterization to crenotherapy: historical and functional perspective on the Eustachian tube

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Translational Myology
The Eustachian tube has played a surprisingly central role in the development of modern otology. Although often overshadowed by the clinical study of the inner ear and tympanic cavity, it was the Eustachian tube, and its treatment, that led to the ...
