DOA estimation in heteroscedastic noise

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2018
The paper considers direction of arrival (DOA) estimation from long-term observations in a noisy environment. In such an environment the noise source might evolve, causing the stationary models to fail. Therefore a heteroscedastic Gaussian noise model is introduced where the variance can vary across observations and sensors.

DOA estimation by bootstrap method

2012 IEEE Fifth International Conference on Advanced Computational Intelligence (ICACI), 2012
The bootstrap is a great technique for assessing the accuracy of parameters estimator in situations where conventional techniques are not valid. In this article, we highlight the motivations for using the bootstrap in array signal processing applications.

Broadband DOA Estimation Using Learning-Based Optimal Statistics Estimates

IEEE Sensors Journal
For accurate Direction of Arrival (DOA) estimation in challenging high reverberation and low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) scenarios, various deep learning (DL) techniques have been developed to incorporate and enhance existing algorithms. However, addressing the challenges of enhancing network manipulability, constructing efficient learning features ...

Interference Jamming DOA Estimation Algorithm

2005 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2005
In this paper, the interference jamming method (IJM) is presented. The method can estimate the weak target under the condition of presence of large power interference of known direction. The method can be applied to the passive array radar based civil broadcasting station.

DOA Estimation of Nonstationary Signals

2014
Abstract In this chapter, we discuss the direction finding problem of sources emitting or inducing nonstationary signals. The focus is on signals which are uniquely characterized by their instantaneous frequencies. Recognizing the quadratic time-frequency distributions as an effective tool to localize signal power in the time-frequency domain, we ...

DOA Estimation Methods and Algorithms

2014
Estimation of direction of arrival (DOA) from data collected by sensor arrays is of fundamental importance to a variety of applications such as radar, sonar, wireless communications, geophysics and biomedical engineering. Significant progress in the development of algorithms has been made over the last three decades.

Practical DOA Estimation via a Network of DOA-Blind Sensors

2007 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing - ICASSP '07, 2007
We consider the problem of DOA (direction of arrival) estimation of an acoustic wavefront by a wireless sensor network (WSN) within the SENMA architecture (a mobile agent (MA) repeatedly polls the sensors lying inside its field of view). The sensors, which are random in number and location, are DOA-blind and simply emit a pulse train synchronized to ...

Direction of Arrival (DOA) Estimation

2019
The importance of DOA estimation in radar processing for automotive applications cannot be overstated. It forms the third component of the radar cube: range, velocity, and angle. In practice, DOA estimation is often complicated by the fact that there will be multiple and unknown number of source signals impinging on the receiver array at the same time,
