Evaluating TEMPO Formaldehyde Retrievals With Co‐Located Ground‐Based FTIR and Pandora Observations

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 9, 16 May 2026.
Abstract Formaldehyde (HCHO) is an important proxy for volatile organic compounds and photochemical activity, with significant implications for air quality and atmospheric chemistry. The recently launched geostationary satellite instrument Tropospheric Emissions: Monitoring of Pollution (TEMPO) provides the first‐ever hourly observations of HCHO and ...

Cerebral Hemodynamic Changes During Cardiac Surgery: A Feasibility MR Study in Piglets

open access: yesNMR in Biomedicine, Volume 39, Issue 5, May 2026.
Congenital heart disease surgery in infants requires cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB), which increases the risk of brain injury. Conventional heart‐lung machines (HLMs) cannot operate inside MRI scanners, limiting real‐time assessment of cerebral changes. We developed an MR‐conditional HLM and tested it in piglets during CPB.

Novel two-dimensional DOA estimation with L-shaped array

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2011
Two-dimensional (2D) direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation has played an important role in array signal processing. In this article, we address a problem of bind 2D-DOA estimation with L-shaped array.

Underdetermined DOA estimation exploiting the higher‐order cumulants of harmonic steering vector with time‐modulated arrays

open access: yesIET Signal Processing, 2022
Time‐modulated arrays (TMAs) have been widely studied owing to their convenient control mode and simple structure. Although direction‐of‐arrival (DOA) estimation based on TMA has garnered considerable attention, underdetermined DOA estimation in TMA is ...

Underdetermined DOA Estimation Using MVDR-Weighted LASSO [PDF]

open access: yesSensors, 2016
The direction of arrival (DOA) estimation problem is formulated in a compressive sensing (CS) framework, and an extended array aperture is presented to increase the number of degrees of freedom of the array. The ordinary least square adaptable least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (OLS A-LASSO) is applied for the first time for DOA estimation.

Combined Retrieval of Cloud Parameters for TEMPO Measurements Over Canada Using Oxygen Dimer and B Band Absorption

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, Volume 13, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Tropospheric Emissions: Monitoring of Pollution (TEMPO) provides valuable hourly measurements of airborne pollutants over North America. Data quality over snowy surfaces may degrade due to difficulty in accurately characterizing surface reflectivity and cloud properties, as snow and cloud are both highly reflective and therefore challenging to

Toeplitz rectification and DOA estimation with music [PDF]

open access: yes2014 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2014
The MUSIC method is widely used in the field of DoA estimation using an array of M sensors, and is known to perform well as long as the number of available samples N is much larger than M. Nevertheless, in the scenario where N is of the same order of magnitude than M, its performance degrades, essentially because the sample covariance matrix (SCM) is ...

Capability Demonstration of a JEDI‐Based System for TEMPO Assimilation: System Description and Evaluation

open access: yesJournal of Advances in Modeling Earth Systems, Volume 18, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract The launch of the Tropospheric Emissions: Monitoring of Pollution (TEMPO) mission in 2023 marked a new era in air quality monitoring by providing high‐frequency, geostationary observations of column NO2 across most of North America. In this study, we present the first implementation of a TEMPO NO2 data assimilation system using the Joint ...

A FPC-ROOT Algorithm for 2D-DOA Estimation in Sparse Array

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2016
To improve the performance of two-dimensional direction-of-arrival (2D DOA) estimation in sparse array, this paper presents a Fixed Point Continuation Polynomial Roots (FPC-ROOT) algorithm.
